State Police arrested 51 year old Meridee Carpenter of New Berlin for Aggravated DWI with a BAC result of .27% & other traffic violations.  Carpenter was charged following the report of a vehicle crashing into the Dollar General Store on Main Street in Sherburne and then fleeing the scene.  State Police located the vehicle being driven on Turnpike Road; Carpenter was issued tickets for the Town of Sherburne Court on March 28th.

State Police reported that last Tuesday Night, at about 11:00 pm, Trooper Timothy West, Jr., responded to a Delaware Co 911 report of a child-birth in progress in a vehicle on State Highway 28 in Franklin.  Trooper West located the vehicle, and observed a woman who was in labor, assisting the woman as the child was born safely in her vehicle.  Both the mother and newborn appeared to be in good health, they were taken by Ambulance to Fox Hospital & were doing fine.  Police said that the woman declined to be identified.

Motorists are advised that State Route 17 eastbound between Airport Road and Front Street will be reduced to 1 lane beginning at 9:00 AM today.    Crews will be performing roadway repairs through 3:00 PM, as spring work begins again on the I-86-Kamikaze Curve project.

The Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council will hold a meeting Today from 1:30 to 3:30 pm in the Delaware Opportunities building, on State Route 10 in Hamden. The Council advises and assists the Early Intervention Program for children birth to age 3 with developmental delays. More information is available at 832-5200.

Commerce Chenango will hold their next Business After Horus Event today in Norwich.  The event will be held at the Morrisville State College – Norwich Campus at 20 Conkey Avenue from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
