State police arrested 47-year-old Maria McGuane of Owego for 2nd degree grand larceny. McGuane is accused of stealing more than $50,000 from her employer between 1999 and 2012; she was arraigned in town of Owego court and was released pending future court action.

The New York farm bureau and local farmers will speak with lawmakers today regarding the continuing financial burdens of farming in the state. Farmers are scheduled to speak with Assembly Ag Committee chairman Bill Magee regarding possible legislation to assist farmers.

The Oneonta common council will hold their next regular meeting this evening. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in the council chambers at the 2nd floor of Oneonta city hall.
