A.M. NEWS WEDNESDAY 2-13-13

The Chenango County Sheriffs Office arrested 24 year old Arik Nisbet of Oxford for 2 counts of 3rd degree Criminal Sexual Act and 1 count of Endangering the welfare of a child.  Nisbet is accused of performing sexual acts with an under aged male in the town of Greene, he was arraigned & was remanded to the Chenango county jail on $5,000 cash bail, He will appear in the Town of Greene Court at a later date.

The Harpursville school district will have a few more days off for students, according to Superintendent Kathy Wood.  Wood said that students will have off again today, as well as tomorrow, Friday & Monday, and they will return to class on Tuesday of next week, due to an issue with a water pump in the school’s well.

COMMERCE CHENANGO will hold their ECONOMIC FORECAST BREAKFAST sponsored by NBT BANK & DEVELOPMENT CHENANGO this morning.  The event will take place at the Silo restaurant in Greene, with Registration at 7:30 AM.  Binghamton University President and Southern Tier Regional economic development council Co-Chair Harvey Stenger will be the keynote speaker.

The Chenango County sheriff’s office arrested 23-year-old Gillian Morgan of Vestal on an Active Bench Warrant issued by the Village Of Sherburne Court.  Deputies arrested Morgan in the Town of Norwich for allegedly violating the conditions of her bail pursuant to the original charge of criminally possessing a hypodermic Instrument. Morgan was remanded to the custody of the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $500 cash bail.
