One of the bigger races locally this year is in the 52nd state senate district, where incumbent Republican Tom Libous of Binghamton is facing a challenge from Democrat Anndrea Starzak. Starzak told WCDO News that her 3 terms as Vestal Town Supervisor gives her a good understanding of what Albany needs to do for the district:

The national baseball hall of fame in Cooperstown if waiting for a collection of artifacts from this year’s world series. The san Francisco giants beat the Kansas city royals in a thrilling 7 game series, items will include caps, jerseys, bats and other items used by the managers, coaches & players in the series, the items will be featured in the 2014 Autumn Glory exhibit.

NYSEG will inspect natural gas transmission rights of way in the Oneonta region next week. The inspections will be done by helicopter, enabling company officials to spot & correct vegetation & encroachment issues that could hinder repair crews. The helicopter inspections will occur November 5th & 6th.
