90-year-old Betty Clark of Oneonta was hospitalized for suffering burns & smoke inhalation at a fire at 348 Chestnut Street in Oneonta Thursday morning.  Clark was taken to Fox Hospital in Oneonta, after she unsuccessfully attempted to rescue her pets.  Investigators determined that cardboard boxes were too close to a gas range in the kitchen, they caught fire at around 9:20 Thursday morning, and passing motorists reported the blaze and helped bring Clark to safety.  Firefighters from Oneonta, West Oneonta, Otego Franklin, Worcester & Sidney responded.

 

The Chenango county sheriffs department arrested 33-year-old Nathan Diamond of the town of Butternuts on an active arrest warrant.   Diamond was arrested by deputies following his release from the Chenango County Jail on unrelated charges, he was turned over to the Binghamton Police on a warrant for Possession of a Forged instrument and Falsifying Business records.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office & State Police arrested a Town of Plymouth man on an active Bench Warrant.  33-year-old Todd Jackson was wanted on a Bench Warrant from the Town of Norwich Court for Failure to enroll in Chenango County Family Treatment Court. Jackson was taken into custody without incident and arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court, he was released following enrollment into Family Treatment Court.

Delaware county fair officials announced that country music act Montgomery Gentry would be the headliners at the Fair on Saturday, August 17th at 7:00PM.  Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9:00 AM.   Tickets may be purchased at Hodges Sales and Service on Delaware Street in Walton or at delawarecountyfair.org

Governor Cuomo today announced that $13.5 million is available through the NY-Sun initiative for projects aimed at reducing the overall cost of installing solar electric systems and streamlining the inspection and permitting process.  $10 million will support efforts to lower the overall cost of the systems and $3.5 million will fund a 2-year statewide effort to educate local officials and first responders. More information is available at nyserda.ny.gov. First round proposals are due July 30th and second round proposals due January 30th 2014.

Binghamton City police are looking for a 33-year-old Matthew Ford of Binghamton, on a City Court Warrant for 4th degree grand larceny.   Ford is described as a white male, 5 foot 7, bald, 150 pounds with hazel eyes and glasses.  Anyone with information can contact the Binghamton Police Department Warrant Division at 772-7044.
