Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced that his office would sponsor a gun buy-back in Utica on Saturday, as part of a new statewide program. The Attorney General’s Office will be accepting working and non-working, unloaded weapons in exchange for compensation on site. This Saturday’s gun buyback will take place at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman today announced that he is leading a coalition of more than a dozen states in filing a friend-of-the-court brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down the federal Defense of Marriage Act, which refuses to recognize for same-sex marriages valid under state law.
