Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested Jade Pittsley Tuesday, she was wanted by the U.S. Marshals in Albany on an arrest warrant for escaping from federal custody. Pittsley was under the supervision of the Federal Bureau of Prisons and was afforded an opportunity to complete the final portion of her sentence at a halfway house in Albany to assist in her reentry to the community, she failed to show up & a warrant was issued for her arrest. Pittsley was located in Johnson City where she was observed leaving a retail store and, as she attempted to get into a nearby vehicle, task force members took her into custody. Officers found more than 40 grams of methamphetamines in her possession, she was transported to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and charged with felony narcotics possession.

The annual Parade of Lights will return to North Broad Street for its 27th year at 6 pm. this Saturday, November 25. Mindy Chawgo of the Norwich BID told WCDO news about the festivities:

State Police will participate in a special traffic enforcement initiative to crack down on unsafe driving behaviors through Thanksgiving weekend. The special traffic enforcement period runs through Sunday, and will focus on impaired and distracted driving as well as speeding and the Move Over Law. Temporary lane closures for road and bridge construction projects on New York State highways will be suspended through 6:00 am on Monday, some work may continue behind permanent concrete barriers for emergency repairs.

State Police and local law enforcement will be out in force through Halloween in order to crack down on impaired and reckless driving. The enforcement period begins today and runs through Tuesday, October 31st, the annual effort is funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.

The Heavy Metal Haul Out for the Delaware Valley Humane Society & conducted by Waste Recovery Enterprises, brought in a substantial amount of money for the Shelter, directer Erin Insinga told WCDO news how much was raised:

State Police were asked to check the welfare of a student at Schenevus Central School, The student left the school after speaking with school staff and was interviewed at home by Investigators. It was determined that the student was suffering from a mental health crisis and did have a firearm in his possession while at school. The student did not make any direct threats or display a weapon at any time. The juvenile was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds and appeared before a judge in Otsego County Supreme Court – Youth Part. Investigators applied for an Extreme Risk Protection Order and the juvenile was transported for a mental health evaluation.

Ganesh Ramsaran pleaded guilty to killing his wife Jennifer in 2012 in Chenango County Court Thursday. Ramsaran was sentenced to 22 years in prison for manslaughter, Ramsaran was granted a retrial last year after Ramsaran claimed he received inadequate defense in his previous trial.

Troopers located the work truck belonging to Barney and Sons Well Drilling in Laurens. It was located unoccupied on a dirt road in the town of Sidney. The investigation is on-going. The Broome County District Attorney’s Office announced that 32-year-old Stephen Moran of Binghamton was arraigned in Broome County Court Thursday, he was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter, 2nd degree manslaughter, along with several other charges, he is accused of driving intoxicated at an excessive speed August 8th on the Vestal Parkway, his vehicle crashed into a vehicle occupied by Alfred and Paula Latessa, Alfred was pronounced dead at the scene, Paula succumbed to her injuries at an area hospital shortly after the crash.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office announced that a man missing from Delaware County was discovered illegally harvesting ginseng in the town of Middletown. The unidentified man was reported missing on August 31st after he failed to return home; an acquaintance found the man’s vehicle on a private logging road in the town of Middletown. The Sheriff’s Office K9 team located the missing person in good health, An Environmental Conservation Office seized the ginseng he was charged with harvesting ginseng without landowner permission, trespassing, and petty larceny.

The Greater Binghamton Airport announced today that they will be offering additional flights to New York City shortly. Officials announced that Delta Airlines will be offering 2 flights a day to LaGuardia Airport, starting on January 9th. Tickets for the New York City flights will be sold starting tomorrow.

State Police are continuing their search to locate Frederick Mayock who was last seen on the Canadarago Lake boat launch with a kayak on October 22, 2022. Investigators are asking the public who live or have businesses near Canadarago Lake and near the boat launch on State Highway 28 to review security or surveillance footage that show a white kayak (pictured below).
