Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested Jade Pittsley Tuesday, she was wanted by the U.S. Marshals in Albany on an arrest warrant for escaping from federal custody. Pittsley was under the supervision of the Federal Bureau of Prisons and was afforded an opportunity to complete the final portion of her sentence at a halfway house in Albany to assist in her reentry to the community, she failed to show up & a warrant was issued for her arrest. Pittsley was located in Johnson City where she was observed leaving a retail store and, as she attempted to get into a nearby vehicle, task force members took her into custody. Officers found more than 40 grams of methamphetamines in her possession, she was transported to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and charged with felony narcotics possession.

The annual Parade of Lights will return to North Broad Street for its 27th year at 6 pm. this Saturday, November 25. Mindy Chawgo of the Norwich BID told WCDO news about the festivities:

The parade currently has more than 100 entries, and Groups interested in participating should Register by calling Chawgo at 607-226-2211.

State Police will participate in a special traffic enforcement initiative to crack down on unsafe driving behaviors through Thanksgiving weekend. The special traffic enforcement period runs through Sunday, and will focus on impaired and distracted driving as well as speeding and the Move Over Law. Temporary lane closures for road and bridge construction projects on New York State highways will be suspended through 6:00 am on Monday, some work may continue behind permanent concrete barriers for emergency repairs.
