State Troopers arrested 35-year-old Sean Urgo of Norwich for criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of child and 2nd degree harassment. The arrest followed the investigation into a dispute on Bartlett Road in Norwich; Urgo was arraigned in the Norwich town court and released on his own recognizance. An order of protection was issued for the victim; Urgo’s faces court action on November 21st.

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer announced that the FDA has heeded his call and approved regulations to make it harder to access painkillers that contain Hydrocodone. The FDA has reclassified Hydrocodone as a Schedule II controlled substance, which will impose greater restrictions in how doctors can prescribe the drug and the quantity that can be prescribed. Hydrocodone is among the most widely prescribed drug in New York State.

October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, and The Chrysler Corporation is teaming up with the Robert Kennedy Center for Justice and Human
Rights to instill bullying prevention instincts in parents, teachers and students with the “Drive for the Kids” program, which comes to the Delhi elementary school from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm during the Costume Dance. Delhi Motor Company will host the fundraiser where, for every test drive taken during the fundraiser, the school will earn $10 from Chrysler toward enrichment programs. The leaf pickup program for this year in the village of Sidney is now underway. The village will utilize its vacuum leaf loader the collection of leaves. Village residents should rake leaves to the curb for pickup. People are asked to not park vehicles on the street where they could conflict with the pickup.
