State Police Superintendent Kevin Bruen resigned from his position today, First Deputy Superintendent Steven Nigrelli will serve as Acting Superintendent of the State Police on an interim basis, and a search for a permanent replacement is underway.

State Senator Peter Oberacker announced that community libraries throughout the 51st senatorial district have been awarded a total of over $800,000 in public library construction grant funds. Locally, the Bovina Public Library receives over $74,000, The Edmeston Free Library receives over $246,000, the Huntington Memorial Library receives over $19,000, the Kinney Memorial Library over $6,500
