Otsego County Sheriff’s Department announced the arrest of 2 men on multiple charges after a joint investigation by his Office and the NYS DEC Police in the Town of Middlefield. 22 year old Dylan Kingsley of Rome & 23 year old Nathanial Smoot of Statesville, North Carolina were charged with illegally taking of a deer, possession of a loaded weapon in a vehicles, trespassing & hunting without a license among other charges, for allegedly hunting illegally on private land in the Town of Middlefield. Kingsley is accused of illegally shooting a deer while Smoot is accused of hunting without a license. Both were arraigned in the Town of Middlefield Court & face action at a later date.

Otsego County Sheriff’s department arrested 44 year old Bradley Ganio of Laurens, for 3rd degree Assault, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing & Harassment, following a recent domestic dispute. Ganio was arraigned and is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Laurens Court at a later date.

State Police arrested 21 year old Timothy Johns of Greene for Aggravated DWI with a reportable BAC of .21%. Troopers responded to a report of a one car accident on State Route 206 in the town of Greene, where Johns was accused of operating the vehicle when he struck a guide rail and became stuck, Johns was released to a sober 3rd party and will appear in the town of Greene Court on December 6th.

State Police arrested 25 year old Jeffrey Gurnee of Afton for Sexual Abuse following an investigation of an alleged sex abuse several years ago where Gurnee allegedly inappropriately touched a child under the age of 14, & a child under the age of 11 on another occasion. Gurnee was arraigned in the town of Afton Court; he was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. An order of protection was issued for each victim

Chenango County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 15 year old juvenile for Arson and Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, following an investigation into 3 fires over a 4 day period at 993 County Road 3 in the Town of Smithville earlier this month. 1 of the fires killed 25 goats & other livestock. The juvenile was arraigned in Chenango County Family Court and remanded to a juvenile facility.
