A state appeals court denied Peter Wlasiuk’s appeal of his 2012 conviction, he has been convicted of the murder 3 times, twice before he was granted a new trial, he will not get a 4th trial. Wlasiuk will continue to serve the 25 years to life sentence for killing his wife Patricia & then staging a Motor Vehicle accident into Guilford Lake to cover up the murder in the family’s Oxford home in 2002.

34-year-old James Oliver of Mount Upton has been charged with first-degree criminal sexual act for allegedly abusing a young girl. Oliver is a level 2-sex offender, he was convicted in 2005 for sexual misconduct to a 15-year-old girl, the latest alleged victim is 7. Oliver is being held at Otsego County Jail on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli released a report showing that Overtime pay at state agencies jumped for the 6th straight year to a record $716 million in 2015 – up nearly $55 million from the year before. The majority of overtime use was concentrated in three agencies: the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, the Department of Corrections, and the Office of Mental Health accounted for 65.3 percent of the overtime hours.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Sabrina Silfee of Coventry on an active Arrest Warrant for Conspiracy, Petty Larceny and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Silfee is accused of a larceny in December at the Norwich Wal-Mart, of 3 televisions and other merchandise by 2 people. The male subject was later identified to be Willie Mays Jones Jr. of Johnson City, who was arrested last month, the 2 were also found to have a small child with them at the time of the alleged larcenies. Silfee was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and is to reappear at a later date.
