Governor Cuomo announced today that the state will be developing a regional approach to re-opening the state, which can only happen after the coronavirus numbers decline for 14 days:

The Number of Coronavirus cases statewide was up to 271,000, with another 1300 new cases discovered Thursday, 422 New Yorkers Died from the virus Thursday, the statewide death toll is up to 16,162.

Oneonta Police are searching for a man who robbed 2 convenient stores this morning.  Police reported that the 1st robbery occurred at about 1:20 a.m. at the KwikFill gas station at 66 Chestnut Street.  A male described as about 5’5″, 170 to 200 lbs. entered the store and tried to grab money from the open cash register, and the clerk tried to stop the suspect & suffered a small stab wound, the suspect fled. The clerk was taken to Fox Hospital & was treated and released.  At 6:20 a.m., police responded to another robbery at Taylors Gas station at 472 Main Street. The description of the suspect was similar to the first robbery; there were no injuries in the 2nd incident.

State Police are investigating 2 early morning robberies at gas stations in Otsego County.  At about 2:37 AM, a white or light skinned male suspect demanded money from the clerk at the Mirabito on State Highway 23 in the town of Oneonta, then at about 5:38 AM, a male matching the same description demanded money from the clerk at the Mirabito on County Highway 48 in the town of Otego.  The suspect is described as approximately 5’4” to 5’6”, wearing a surgical type mask and a dark sweatshirt.  The male did not display a weapon but did state that he had one.  Anyone with information should contact the State Police at 561-7400.

Delaware County Public Health announced this afternoon that they now have 67 positive Coronavirus cases, with 10 transferred out of County, 34 have recovered, 4 have died, 44 are quarantined, 2 are in a hospital & 17 are recovering at home.

The Broome County Health Department announced that they now have 244 positive Coronavirus cases, they report 15 deaths, 86 recoveries & 350 people are quarantined.

Chenango County Public Health announced today that they now have 82 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus, with 3 deaths, 58 recoveries, 5 people are hospitalized and 103 are quarantined.

The 2020 Eastern League All-Star Game that was scheduled to take place at NYSEG Stadium on July 15th has been cancelled; the Home Run Derby scheduled for July 14th has also been cancelled.  Minor League Baseball officials canceled the game due to the delay of the 2020 Regular Season as an effect of the Coronavirus.  Tickets for the Eastern League All-Star Game and/or Home Run Derby may be exchanged for 2 Regular Season games of equal or lesser value.  Fans wishing to receive a refund may reach out to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies Front Office when the stadium re-opens.

An American Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled for Sidney Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Sidney Elks Lodge, at 104 River Street, Sidney.  Blood supplies are critically low & all blood types are needed, appointments are requested at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-red cross.
