The Sidney school District 5th grade band played at the ceremony & young sapling trees were distributed.

Tomorrow in Bainbridge, the “Regatta Row” Folk Art Chairs, Side Tables & Canoe paddles will be on display along North main Street & at the Town Hall, where the decorated items will be displayed, along wi5th other planned events, Spokesperson Nancy Kitchen explains:

Kitchen said that tomorrow, there will be live music and Wine & food Tastings & The public can start voting for the “People’s Choice” for their favorite table or chair, they are also holding their “Fine Arts Show” in the gallery at the Town hall starting Saturday through May 5th, featuring various pieces on display from local artists & photographers.

The Practice scheduled for tonight at the Afton Motorsports Park has been cancelled due to the weather, The practice has been tentatively scheduled for Monday, weather permitting.

The City of Oneonta’s annual Arbor Day event will include the ceremonial planting of a birch tree, the event begins at Swart-Wilcox Historic Park, Wilcox Avenue at 10:00 am today, the event is open to the public.

The Sidney Central School Observatory will be open tonight, from 8:30-9:30PM. The featured attractions will be the waxing gibbous Moon, and rising Jupiter in the eastern sky. Several telescopes are available for viewing, including the main scope inside the dome. This event is open to the public, and admission is free. This session will be run by Sidney High faculty and students. The Observatory is located behind the high school building.

This weekend, Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29th, the Wright National Soccer Campus will have 90 teams from throughout New York competing in the 6th Annual I-88 Challenge sponsored by the Oneonta Soccer Club. Club Spokesman Brett Buzzy explains:
