The 40th Annual Algonquin Antique Auto Show & Flea Market will be held Sunday at General Clinton Park in Bainbridge, spokesman Ernest Thompson explains:

The SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association will host the annual Alumni Weekend Today through Sunday, there will be awards ceremonies for the Athletic Hall of Fame, Alumni of Distinction, and the Alumni Association Annual Award winners.

The State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that beginning Monday, the on and off ramps at Exit 5 of Northbound I-81 and U.S. 11 will be closed for approximately one week to facilitate a bridge replacement project in the Town of Dickinson. Signed detours will be in place during the ramp closures. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.

State Police issued 13,688 tickets statewide during the Memorial Day Weekend traffic enforcement campaign. Troopers arrested 213 people for DWI and investigated 808 crashes, including 142 personal injury crashes and eight fatal crashes, which killed eight people. 965 people were ticketed in Troop C locally.

The Sidney Veterans Memorial Park Golf Tournament & Fundraiser will be held In Sidney tomorrow, organizer Tom Ruff explains:

Money raised by the Golf Tournament will go for a variety of upgrades and improvements at the Sidney Veteran’s Park.

Saturday is the annual Get Outdoors & Get Together Day with State DEC at Rogers Center in Sherburne. The free event features fishing, kayak and canoe demonstrations. Saturday is also the date for the 2nd annual Shredding Event at Rogers Center, where people can bring unwanted old paper documents and shred them for free in the Rogers Center parking lot from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, for more information go to FriendsofRogers.org.

The annual Chenango County Airport Day at the Eaton Airport in Norwich is returning Saturday, after missing 2 years due to the COVID 19 Pandemic. The event starts with a Fly-In Breakfast, it will run from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Grant’s Fire Museum, will open Saturday in Norwich. The Museum is located at 48 Sheldon Street in Norwich, a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, the museum is owned by career firefighter Andrew Grant, who has about 200 years of artifacts in his museum.
