With the extreme temperatures expected through the weekend, state & local officials are reminding area residents to try to find air conditioned places during the peak hours, avoid strenuous activities & rigorous exercising outdoors, Wear light clothing, Check on family members and neighbors, Drink plenty of water, Watch out for heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.  With regards to pets, or children, do not leave them in a closed car.

21 year old Brandon Clark of Cicero was released from a Utica Area Hospital & has officially been charged with 2nd degree murder, for the death of 17 year old Bianca Devins of Utica last weekend.  Clark was remanded to the Oneida County Jail, he is accused of Killing Devins, posting pictures of her body on 4chan & Discord social media sites, discord followers & Clark himself notified police, police found Clark stabbing himself in the neck.  Clark faces court action in Utica City Court next week, Devin’s funeral mass is being held a church in Utica this afternoon.

Delaware County continues to sell it recyclable at about the same rate as it has over the last several years, County Solid Waste Coordinator Tyson Robb explains:

Robb said that China has restricted the importing of recyclables there, Delaware county remains somewhat unaffected by that, as volume out remains the same, however revenue from the recyclables has suffered a significant decline.  Delaware County Residents are still urged to recycle as they have been in the recent past.

The American Red Cross reports that blood donations this summer are typically low, and all blood types are needed.  A Red Cross blood drive is being held in Sidney Saturday from 7:30 Am to 12:30 PM at the American legion at 22 Union Street.  Appointments to donate can be used with the Red Cross Blood Donor App, at RedCrossBlood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce announced that there 33rd Annual Golf Classic will be held on August 8th, at the Oneonta Country Club.  Registrations can be accessed at otsegocc.com.

The 2019 edition of National Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend starts today, with the annual Induction Ceremony on Sunday, July 21 at 1:30 PM.  This year’s inductees are the late Roy Halladay, plus Edgar Martinez, Mike Mussina, Mariano Rivera, Harold Baines and Lee Smith at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown.   The complete schedule of events is available at baseballhall.org/hofw.

The Bainbridge Old Time Band will have their next concert tonight at 7:00 PM.  The concert will be held in the Bainbridge Village Green Park, in case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Bainbridge Town Hall Theater.
