17 year old Anais Soto of Oneonta was sentenced to 8 years in prison in Otsego County Court Today. Soto pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary in connection with the Robbery & Murder of Kenneth Robinson in Worcester in October 2019, Dylan Robinson was found guilty for burglary 7 murder last month for his role in the killing of his father & faces sentencing shortly, Alexander Borgreen took a plea deal for Burglary was sentenced to 12 years in prison, Nicolas Meridy took a plea deals for murder & was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison.

Syracuse University Sports fans will be returning to the Carrier Dome at full capacity for the 2021-22 athletic season. Officials said that there will be no capacity restrictions or social distancing rules, but fans must provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. Depending on changes to CDC and state guidance, some rules may change closer to the start of the athletic season.

Governor Cuomo said today that there was another slight uptick in positivity rates for those tested for COVID Thursday. There were almost 77,000 tested, with 506 positives, for a .66% rate. Patient Hospitalizations, the number in ICU beds & on ventilators continues to trend downward, there were 4 deaths Thursday attributed to the virus, State Health Department officials said that they are watching the numbers carefully because about 20% of the new positive in New York City were of the Delta variant, which had a horrific effect on the country of India recently.

State Police and local law enforcement agencies across the state will increase patrols and crack down on drunk and drugged driving and other traffic infractions this 4th of July weekend. State Troopers will conduct sobriety checkpoints and target reckless and aggressive driving statewide to keep New York highways safe during one of the busiest summer holidays for travel. The campaign will begins today, through Monday, July 5. Last year, the State Police issued nearly 9,214 vehicle and traffic tickets during the 4th of July weekend. Troopers arrested 180 people for DWI and investigated 456 crashes and one fatality.

Governor Cuomo & the State Department of transportation announced that temporary lane closures for road and bridge construction projects on State highways will be suspended today through Tuesday morning, to ease travel throughout the July 4th holiday weekend. Some projects may continue in the case of emergency, or behind barricades that will not impede traffic flow.
