Broome County District Attorney’s office announced that Dillon Thomas pleaded guilty to Attempted Assault in Broome County Court. Thomas admitted to cutting a woman’s hand with a knife during a domestic incident at the Econo Lodge in the Town of Dickinson, he was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in state prison. He was previously convicted of Attempted Burglary in Broome County in 2016.

Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20 year old Tori Johnson following a traffic stop in the Town of Edmeston on January 20th. Johnson was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operator, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, for operating an uninspected motor vehicle on a public highway, with a suspended New York State driver’s license, Johnson will appear in the Town of Edmeston Court on a later date.

The Mid York Concert Band is looking for more musicians to join, as they prepare for their Spring Concert on Sunday, May 21,, at 2:o0 PM in the Norwich High School Auditorium. Band Director Doug Ernst told WCDO news what they are looking for:

Broome County Sheriff Fred Akshar announced expanded visitation hours with open visitation at the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility effective immediately. Visitations hours have been doubled to 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday from 12:30pm – 2:30pm and 6:30pm – 10:30pm, with no appointment necessary.

Norwich Native & Former American Idol Contestant Kaitlyn Jackson is currently touring around the country & state in the traveling show of “Anastasia” which will be appear in Binghamton TONIGHT & TOMORROW Night, Jackson told WCDO News that she know she will see family & friends at the performances, and is grateful for the support she has received from area communities:

Sidney 7th grader Isabella Phelps competed in the first ever New York State High School Girls Wrestling Tournament on Friday in Syracuse. She finished a 3rd overall in her weight class of 107 pounds. Bella’s record was 5-1 for the one day event and she avenged her only loss by beating the same wrestler in the 3rd place match. Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25 year old Brandon Loucks of Oneonta following a traffic stop in the Town of Maryland on January 21st. Loucks was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Operating M/V with Suspended or Revoked Registration & Uninspected motor vehicle. Loucks will appear in the Town of Maryland Court at a later date.

Laurens Fire Fighters responded Sunday Morning to a fire in a garage on Brook Street, which spread to a shed and then to a building on Laurens Central School property. Surrounding structures suffered heat damage, no injuries have been reported, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
