Broome County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20 year old Anton Becker-Harris of Binghamton for Unlawful Fleeing, Reckless Driving after he allegedly drove on sidewalks in Binghamton early Friday. Deputies observed Becker Harris drive a motorcycle on the sidewalk and on the grounds of Calvin Coolidge Elementary School, they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the motorcycle sped away, Deputies found the motorcycle hidden behind a dumpster with Becker-Harris & his female passenger walking nearby. Becker-Harris was taken into custody without incident, was processed & faces court action at a later date.

Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 33 year old Adam McKrell of Port Crane for 3 Counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, plus Unlawful Imprisonment, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration & Harassment, after a physical domestic incident in the Town of Fenton. Deputies responded Friday to the Town of Fenton, McKrell was outside yelling at his girlfriend & was preventing her from leaving the premises. McKrell refused to comply with deputies, resisted arrest and after a State Trooper deployed a Taser on him, he was taken into custody. McKrell is accused of striking the female in the presence of 3 children, he was arraigned at central arraignment and released. He is due to appear in the Town of Fenton Court at a later date.

The Fundraiser at Awestruck Ciders in Sidney Sunday, brought in a good amount of money for the Nate Lull Scholarship Fund, Lull told WCDO News that while the full amount hasn’t been determined yet, it was a solid day for his scholarship fund:

Bassett Healthcare Network announced that they have been alerted of an email scam, where scammers are posing as representatives or recruiters on behalf of A.O. Fox Hospital and attempting to steal money and personal identification information from victims. The suspicious emails reads: “A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital is pleased to extend an offer of employment to you a the full-time position”, it prompts the reader to “scan a copy of personal forms of identification for employment verification,” Bassett Healthcare Network will never ask potential job seekers for any forms of payment or personal documents prior to a genuine job offer. Anyone receiving the email should Report it to Trina Silver, Privacy Officer at Bassett, at 607-547-7900 or patrenia.silver@bassett.org, they should also contact Law Enforcement, change their internet passwords & contact their financial institution.

State Police at Troop C removed 53 impaired drivers off the roadways in September. 1 of those impaired drivers also had a child under the age of 15 in the vehicle, 7 had a B.A.C higher than .18%, 2 had been previously convicted of DWI in the last 10 years and 9 drivers were under the influence of drugs.

Broome County District Attorney Mike Korchak announced that Dylan Shoemaker of Chenango Forks pleaded guilty to 2nd Degree Assault, in Broome County Court Friday. Shoemaker admitted that on February 6th, he assaulted a State trooper, when police responded to a residence on Perch Pond Road in Windsor following the report of a domestic dispute. 1 trooper was hit in the face and the same trooper was cut by glass as he wrestled Shoemaker to the ground, he was treated and released at a local hospital. Shoemaker has a lengthy criminal history, he will be sentenced to 12 years to life in New York State prison on January 12.

State Police continue to investigate the disappearance of Erica Franolich 37 years after she went missing from Middleburgh, she was 26 years old when she went missing. Franolich was originally from Michigan and last spoke to her family on October 13, 1986. After being unable to make contact with Erica, her out of state family reported her missing.
