The Annual Sidney Chamber of Commerce Dinner and Awards ceremony will be held on June 6th at Club 55 in Sidney.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office arrested 57 year old Tracy Elderkin of Sidney for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license. Deputies were notified last Thursday that Elderkin had driven to the Delaware County Probation Department for a scheduled meeting with a revoked driver’s license. Deputies charged Elderkin with vehicle and traffic misdemeanors of, aggravated unlicensed operation in the 2nd degree, operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license, as well as a traffic violation for, unlicensed operator. Elderkin was subsequently released on appearance tickets and directed to appear at the Town of Delhi court at a later date to answer the charges.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44 year old Robert Powell of Hamden following a traffic stop in the Town of Bovina. A County Deputy observed a vehicle speeding last Wednesday on County Highway 6 in the Town of Bovina, a traffic stop was conducted and Powell was found to be driving with his driving privileges suspended, he was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operator, Unlicensed Operator and Speeding. Powell was issued an Appearance Ticket for Town of Bovina Court at a later date.

Broome County District Attorney’s office announced the conviction of Carnell McCarden of Johnson City, who pleaded guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon. On April 18, 2023, Broome County Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at 57 Miriam Street in Johnson City where McCarden was found to be in possession of weapons, McCarden will be sentenced to 5 years in New York State Prison and 5 years post-release supervision. Sentencing is scheduled for July 24th in Broome County Court.

Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23 year old Kobe Kimble of Oneonta on an outstanding arrest warrant for Criminal Mischief, Deputies located and arrested him and turned him over to the Delhi Police Department for processing.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30 year old Geoffrey Brooks of Windsor, for Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and several traffic violations following a traffic stop and pursuit in the Town of Dickinson, Brooks will face court action on the charges shortly.
