Governor Cuomo announced today that the state has over 195,000 cases of the Coronavirus, there are still 18,825 people hospitalized, and 671 people died Easter Sunday, bring the state total up to 10,056.  Cuomo said that he will be coordinating with surrounding states regarding when & how to re-open the economy:

Governor Cuomo held a Conference Call this afternoon with other Northeast Governors, regarding how & when to get the economy started again.  New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy commented:

Governor Cuomo said that each states economic development experts & Health Department experts will form a coalition to study how other countries rebounded after the Coronavirus, and how to enact a successful Re-Opening plan that in each of the Northeast States at the same time, at the most prudent.

U.S Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced today that she is sponsoring a provision in the next Coronavirus relief bill to help out the struggling farmers across the state:

Senator Gillibrand said that Farmers have been ignored in the previous Coronavirus stimulus bills, at time when they are suffering their worst outcomes since the 2008 Recession, with the Coronavirus.

The Village of Sidney Board of Trustees announced that they are cancelling the board meeting & public hearings scheduled for tonight.  A new date will be announced shortly. Also, the Shade Tree Committee has decided to cancel the Arbor Day Celebration held on Friday, April 24th, 2020 due to health concerns related to COVID-19, commonly called coronavirus.

A.M. NEWS Monday 4-13-20

Governor Cuomo announced that the State has over 180,000 cases of the Coronavirus, they have reported well over 9,385 deaths so far. The Governor also said that he will be working with neighboring states & local Governments on coordinating plans to re-open the economy, when the time is right:

Governor Cuomo also said that no plans have been made yet regarding the re-opening of schools that idea will be discussed on April 29th, and will be dependent on the state Health Department numbers.

There are 48 confirmed positive cases of the Coronavirus in Delaware County, 3 people are deceased and 12 have recovered, 5 positive cases were transferred back to their home county, 4 are in a hospital, 23 are isolated at home.

The Otsego County Department of Health has 43 confirmed cases, there have been 2 deaths, 6 were hospitalized, 16 have recovered, 78 people were on quarantine, and 77 have been released from quarantine.

The Broome County Health Department is up to 133 have positive Coronavirus cases, there are now 7 deaths in Broome County 248 are quarantined & 26 people have recovered.

Chenango County announced their current Coronavirus numbers this afternoon, they have 65 positive cases, 10 Hospitalizations, 21 Recoveries, and there are 257 people under quarantine.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 65 year old Jack Burgess of Davenport for allegedly making inappropriate advances toward a female under the age of 16 through text and social media communications.   Burgess was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, he was arraigned by a remote, virtual appearance on Friday, he was released pending future court action & an Order of Protection was issued for the victim.

Due to the Coronavirus situation, The Village of Afton will be conducting their monthly board meeting through Zoom, the next meeting tonight at 7:00 PM.
