Governor Cuomo today announced that he is extend the “New York On Pause” restrictions until April 29th, as the number of Coronavirus cases continues to go up, but at slower levels than before.  The state now has over 130,000 cases of the Coronavirus, with over 16,800 in hospitals, about 4500 on ventilators in ICU beds, the death toll is 4,758, but over 13,000 have been successfully treated.  Dr. Jim Malatras has been tracking various models for planning purpose, & the number suggest that New York may be at the beginning of the apex:

Governor Cuomo commented about the drug treatments that have been going on, which appears to have favorable results:

Secretary to the Governor, Melissa DeRosa said that the Department of Labor is dealing with the largest volume of first time requests for benefits, and upgrades are continuing to meet the demand:

The federal government is deploying 1,000 personnel to New York State, including doctors, nurses, respiratory technicians and therapists to help the state’s overwhelmed hospital systems. The first 325 personnel were deployed to the New York City hospital system Sunday, the rest will deploy to the Javitz Center in Manhattan Tuesday & Wednesday.

The General Clinton Canoe Regatta has been officially cancelled this year, according to Chairman John Harmon:

Harmon said that the idea to move the regatta to later in the year was not realistic as water levels, especially in the upper 35, are traditionally too low for the canoes, they expect to hold the 58th Regatta in 2021.

The State Health Department released the latest statistics today regarding Coronavirus cases by County.  Chenango County is up to 46 cases, Delaware County has 29 cases with 1 death, Otsego County with 34 cases & 1 death, Broome County is up to 76 cases & 5 deaths.

Jerry Conklin, the owner of Conklin fashions of Sidney & Bainbridge, decided to take spare inventory, and turn it into free masks for the public:

Conklin gave away the bandanas-turned-facemasks at the Unadilla rest area over the weekend, and again this afternoon, he said that Lori Crane will also be giving them away at their 85 Main Street Sidney building.

The Sidney Central School District will continue to provide food service to the school community; however, there will be changes to the weekly schedule. The Food Service Plan for today & Tuesday will again include breakfast and lunch available for pick up at the Junior/Senior High School from 9am – 12pm, with mobile deliveries also going to the same locations posted on the district website.   The food service plan for Wednesday, will include a bulk food delivery, which the district will move to a once per week bulk food delivery on Wednesdays, delivered door to door for all those that have signed up.  Those who need to sign up can do so at the Monday or Tuesday food pick-ups.

Governor Cuomo gave the latest Coronavirus statistics SUNDAY, there were 122, 031 positive cases, with 16,479 hospitalized, 4376 are on ventilators in ICU Beds, there are 4159 deaths, 12,187 have been discharged following recovery.

Governor Cuomo announced Sunday that the issue of getting ventilators manufactured in time for the expected apex of Coronavirus cases is very difficult:

The Governor also said Sunday that he has not yet signed the controversial Executive Order regarding the forcible taking of Ventilators from Upstate Hospitals to the Greater New York City regional Hospitals:

Governor Cuomo also said that the latest information regarding a vaccine is that it is 12 to 18 months away from completion, in the meantime, the state, with the approval of the FDA is testing various treatments & drugs to see what might work for Coronavirus patients in the short term.

1000 Ventilators arrived donated by China through Chinese owned business in NYC & Chinese ambassador.  140 Ventilators on loan from Oregon State now has 75,000 total beds, up from 53,000 before Coronavirus. Javits Center with 2500 beds will now be COVID 19 only after Trump gave the OK to do that,  State has 4000 of total US 10,000 stockpile of ventilators

State Senator Jim Seward was removed from a Ventilator over the weekend, after he had been in a medically induced Coma, while he has been treated at Albany Medical Center for the Corona Virus, his wife Cindy has been quarantined at home, also with the Coronavirus.  Senator Seward went through Cancer Treatments late last year.

The Chenango County Health Department announced that they have 43 positive cases of the Corona Virus; there are 77 in Precautionary Quarantine, 218 in Mandatory Quarantine.

Otsego County Health Department reported 5 new Coronavirus cases, giving them 29 total confirmed cases, 3 are hospitalized, 6 have recovered and are off isolation & there has been 1 death.  110 people on mandatory or precautionary quarantine, 41 people have been released from precautionary/mandatory quarantine.

Delaware County Public Health received 2 more positive lab reports for COVID-19 Sunday, they have 32 Positive Results, 6 were transferred back to their home county, 4 have recovered, 13 are isolated at Home, 9 are Hospitalized, 1 has died, 47 are in Mandatory Quarantine, 9 are in Precautionary Quarantine, they have Tested 225.

Broome County Health Department have 71 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus, 7 have recovered, there are 5 deaths, and 11 in precautionary Quarantine, 129 are in mandatory quarantine.
