Lieutenant Governor-Designate Antonio Delgado today announced his plans to resign from Congress and be sworn in as Lieutenant Governor of New York on Wednesday. Delgado’s resignation from the 19th District will allow other candidates to come forward & run in the District, with the Primaries scheduled for August 23rd.

The national Click It Or Ticket campaign is underway in New York State today. Law enforcement will be stepping-up patrols to encourage compliance with New York’s universal seat belt law which requires all vehicle passengers to wear a seat belt at all times, regardless of age or seat location.

New York’s State Senate and Congressional redistricting maps have been submitted by Jonathan Cervas of Pennsylvania & were approved Friday night, Candidates must file their petitions between June 8th to the 10th, Primary day for the state Senate and Congressional races is now August 23rd, with early voting between August 13-21.

The State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that, starting today, I-88 will be reduced to a single lane of traffic in each direction and westbound traffic will cross over to the eastbound lanes between Exits 17 and 18 in the Town of Maryland. The lane reduction and crossover are necessary to facilitate a road rehabilitation project and are expected to be in place through the end of November, weather permitting. Otsego County Department of Health reported 48 New COVID cases Friday, with 2 hospitalizations, and 11.0% 7 day positivity rate. There have been 859 new COVID-19 cases reported since May 1, 2022. This is significant increase compared to 369 cases in March and 789 cases in April. Otsego County is now at HIGH COVID-19 Community Level.
