State Police have released the identity of a toddler who died after being found in Goodyear Lake as 3 year-old Andrew Durkin. State Police, Otsego County Sheriff’s Department & Milford Fire & EMS were called in following the report of a missing child from Bob Wilson Road in the Town of Milford Sunday shortly before 3:00 PM. State Police reported today that the Andrew Durkin wandered off as his & another family were cleaning up following a meal, the Underwater Recovery Team found the about 90 minutes later underwater near a dock on Goodyear Lake. Emergency Crews attempted to resuscitate Durkin, he was transported him to Fox Hospital in Oneonta, where he was pronounced deceased. The drowning death of the boy has been ruled as accidental.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the WCDO listening area through Wednesday evening. Officials at the Weather Service Binghamton office stated that the recent showers and thunderstorms are starting to saturate the ground, with showers and thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall rates are likely in the region. The rainfall could result in several inches of rain which could lead to flash flooding; also minor flooding may occur along the main stem rivers. Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 32 year old Devin Stickle of Downsville with Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance & failure to stop at a stop sign. Stickle was stopped by Deputies in the Village of Delhi, Stickle was found to be in possession of hypodermic instruments and a quantity of heroin, he was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $1000 Cash bail or $2000 bond; pending action in the Town of Delhi Court on a later date.

The New York Mets announced today that Binghamton Rumble Ponies All Star & former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow has a broken hamate bone in his right hand that will require surgery, and he is likely out for the season. Tebow had been placed on the DL by Double-A Binghamton over the weekend after leaving Thursday’s game in the seventh inning after a swing. Tebow played in the Double-A All-Star Game earlier this month, and was expected to be called up to the big leagues when the rosters expand in September.
