State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker discussed the findings of the state’s handling of Covid Positive nursing home patients who required  hospitalization, and who were transferred back to nursing homes after they recovered:

Zucker also said that over 37,000 staff members at Nursing homes tested positive for COVID, many of those who may have brought the virus into the nursing homes while Asymptomatic and many were before much was known about the new virus.  The Full report can be found at health.ny.gov.

Governor Cuomo announced today that the New York State Fair is cancelled this year.  Last year’s Fair broke all attendance records when 1.3 million people came through the turnstiles.

The State Health Department announced today that there were 518 new Coronavirus cases diagnosed Sunday, giving the state 397,649 total cases, there were 9 deaths attributed to the virus Sunday, bringing the state death toll to 24,913, hospitalizations were down to 817 Sunday.

Chenango County Public Health announced that they are up to 150 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus, currently, 37 people are under quarantine, no one is hospitalized, there have been 6 deaths, 139 recoveries and over 11,700 tests have been performed.

Broome County Health Department reported 716 total Coronavirus cases Monday, with 52 deaths, 590 recoveries, and 394 are being monitored by the department, they have conducted 21,229 tests.

Otsego County Health Department announced today that free rabies clinics for the month of July have been cancelled, the list of cancelled clinics can be found at the Health Department’s website.
