The State Health Department released the statistics for COVID 19 testing on Sunday, with over 101,000 tests administered & a positivity rate jumping up to 3.75%, the majority of those were of the Delta Variant among people who were not vaccinated. Patient Hospitalizations went back over 2,000 Sunday, ICU patients are just over 400 and those on ventilators are up to 188, there were 29 deaths from COVID Sunday, and over 29,000 Vaccine Doses were administered.

The Chenango United Way will be merging with the Delaware & Otsego Counties United Way soon; Chenango United Way Executive Director Elizabeth Monaco told WCDO News that the pandemic made the situation difficult for many not-for-profit organizations:

Monaco said that she will be the Executive Director of the new 3 county United Way, however money raised in each county, will be used in the county it was raised in, they will serve about 153,000 people across the 3 counties and will continue to maintain a physical presence in Norwich and Oneonta at their current locations.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s gave full approval today for the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccination; the full approval is for people 16-years-old and older, it could also lead to more vaccine mandates by companies, universities and local governments across New York State & the nation.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded Friday to a custody dispute in the Town of Middletown, Upon arrival, Deputies learned that the suspect, 30-year old Jeremey Aubry of Margaretville, had taken an 8-year old child from a birthday party on a dirt bike and operated the dirt bike through the Village of Margaretville without helmets. Aubry was charged with endangering the welfare of a child & was released on an appearance ticket for Middletown Court on a later date.

Delaware County Public Health announced that the Farmer’s Market COVID-19 Clinic this week in Delhi has been cancelled. Delaware County Public Health urges those who have not been vaccinated for COVID 19, to do so as quickly as possible through the “Am I Eligible” App, at area Pharmacies, More information is available at Delaware County Public Health at 832-5200.

Governor Cuomo declared a State of Emergency on for more than half the counties in the state, including all of the local counties, as Hurricane Henri was aiming for Long Island Sunday. The Governor’s declaration of a state of emergency ensures resources which are assigned for State use only are provided to local governments to help protect citizens and infrastructure. Governor Cuomo activated 500 National Guard troops for deployment to help localities with storm response efforts. A Flash Flood watch remains in effect through 8:00 PM tonight.

Cuomo will step aside at midnight tonight for Kathy Hochul to be sworn in. Several localities are investigating Cuomo on numerous sexual harassment allegations.

The State Health Department announced that COVID 19 results from statewide testing Saturday, with about 3% testing positive. The Number of Statewide Hospitalization was up to 1953, the number in ICU beds is up to 404 & the number of ventilators is up to 185. Locally, 26 new cases of COVID 19 were reported in Otsego, Delaware & Chenango Counties Saturday.
