A Racist video was posted by a Bainbridge Guilford Student Monday, on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and was circulated around the District by the following day. BG Superintendent Tim Ryan told WCDO News that he met with Administration, The School Attorney, The School Board, to come up with a plan to address the racist nature of the video with the students:

Ryan said that they can not divulge the identity of the student who posted the racist video on social media at this time & the investigation is ongoing.

The Community Mass Food Distribution will be held next Wednesday at the Sidney Fire State on River Street & Volunteers are Needed. Any Volunteers would need to arrive to the fire station about 2 hours before to help in the packing and distribution of food items. Delaware County Department of Economic Development in partnership with CDO Workforce has announced the Train to Work Initiative, which will reimburse Delaware County businesses for hiring and training employees. Economic Development Spokesman Evan Bowker explains:

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced her plan to introduce the Heating and Cooling Relief Act of 2022, which would invest $40 billion in annual funding to expand access to the Low Income HEAP program and eligibility criteria so households never pay more than 3% of their annual income on energy costs. Gillibrand said that HEAP is a severely underfunded program that has only been able to reach approximately 16% of eligible households in recent years.

Otsego County Sheriff Rich Devlin announced that he is seeking re-election for a 5th term as sheriff. Devlin was first elected to the position in 2006, he previously served in the Oneonta City Police Department.

2 brothers have been arrested following an investigation into larcenies in Delaware County. Last Friday, State Police BCI arrested 42 year old Nehemiah Clark of Grand Gorge and 40 year old Jeremiah Clark of Grand Gorge after an execution of a search warrant. Investigators located over 2 dozen stolen items ranging from tools, equipment, personal items and sports items. Each man was charged with 2 counts of 3rd degree Burglary, & 4th & 5th degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Both men were arraigned, Jeremiah Clark was released on his own recognizance, he also has additional charges from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department. Nehemiah Clark was remanded to the Delaware County Jail.

After receiving tips from the public, State Police arrested 36 year old Ronald Mills of Afton for Petit Larceny. State Police posted surveillance pictures taken at the Bainbridge Coin Laundry, Mills was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Bainbridge Town Court on February 1st.

Delaware County Public Health will be conducting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for people 18 and older Today at 97 Main Street, Delhi, Moderna 1st or 2nd doses will only be available from 2:00 to 4:00 PM for walk-ins only. Moderna boosters will be available from 2:00 to 4:00 PM for those who registered at apps2.health.ny.gov. Individuals who received the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 Vaccines are now eligible for a single booster dose 5 months or more after initial series.
