Sidney Village Police, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office & State Parole arrested 40 year old James Reigles of Sidney Tuesday on 5 counts of Criminal possession of a controlled substance & 1 count of Criminal Possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Police seized methamphetamines, suboxone packing materials & drug paraphernalia during a search of Reigles’ residence. Reigles was arraigned in Village of Sidney Court, he was released on his own recognizance & was then turned over to New York State Parole, more charges may be forthcoming & the investigation is ongoing.

Chenango County Public Health reported 17 new COVID 19 cases today, they have had a total of 2527 cases in the year since COVID hit New York State, they report 75 Active Cases, 257 Quarantines & 9 hospitalized.

Domestic travelers will no longer be required to quarantine after entering New York from another U.S. State or U.S. Territory starting April 1st. The State Department of Health still recommends quarantine after domestic travel as an added precaution, Mandatory quarantine remains in effect for international travelers. All travelers must continue to fill out the Traveler Health Form at coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-travel-advisory. Individuals should continue to wear masks, practice socially distancing and avoid gatherings.

The Binghamton Devils today announced the regular-season game against the Hershey Bears, originally scheduled for Friday at 7:00 PM, has been moved to Wednesday, April 28 at 6:00 PM. Yesterday’s game was stopped after the 1st period due to COVID 19 issues with the team.

The New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment will meet by Webcast on Today, at 10:30 A.M. The Siting Board agenda includes the Application of High Bridge Wind, LLC for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need, to construct a Wind Powered Electric Generating Facility in the Town of Guilford. Delaware County Public Health reported 18 new COVID cases out of 358 tested Wednesday, they report 13 hospitalized, 125 active cases and 265 quarantined.

The Sidney Central School District was just notified that a 9th grade student and a staff have tested positive for COVID-19. They have not been on campus since 2/25 and 3/3 respectively. The Health Department has conducted an investigation and the contact tracing has been completed. There will be no change to the instructional model at this time.

The Otsego County Department of Health announced that in light of Governor Cuomo’s announcement, local health departments can vaccinate anyone that is eligible & the county will no longer collect names or emails. Beginning next week, all clinic announcements will be made on the Otsego County Public Health mobile app, Facebook, The Otsego county website or through local media. The Otsego Health Department Mobile App can be downloaded free at the iOS/Android app store.
