Tomorrow, 4 upstate regions will begin the 1st phase of the Re-Opening, following the statewide shutdown as the Coronavirus began to spread in Mid-March.  Kerri Green of Commerce Chenango is part of the “Southern Tier Regional Control Room” overseeing the reopening, she commented about the process:

The Southern Tier, Central New York, Mohawk Valley & the North Country will reopen starting tomorrow after meeting the 7 criteria established by the CDC  for safe re-opening, leaders have been appointed in each region to watch those 7 parameters, which can be viewed at forward.ny.gov. Governor Cuomo today said that there is some flexibility within the state guidelines for re-opening businesses, which will be figured out in accordance with the regional Control Rooms:

 Businesses that will be allowed to re-open include in Phase 1 are Manufacturing, Construction, Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting, Retail  with curbside or in-store pickup or drop off only, plus Wholesale Trade.

Chenango County Public Health announced today that they are up to 112 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus.  They have 5 people hospitalized, 38 quarantined, 80 have recovered, 4 have died, they have conducted over 1700 tests so far.

Broome County updated their Coronavirus statistics this afternoon; they now have 379 total cases, with 28 deaths, 269 recoveries, and 282 patients being monitored by the Health Department.

A traffic-stop by Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies in East Meredith on Monday evening, led to the arrest of 25 year old Devyn Clum of Bloomville.  Deputies stopped a vehicle in East Meredith after observing the driver fail to stop at a stop sign, Deputies charged Clum with failure to stop at a stop sign, operating a motor vehicle with broken glass, & aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and he was released & will appear in the Town of Meredith Court at a later date.

Delaware County Public Health announced that they now have 63 positive cases of the Coronavirus, with 12 people quarantined, 6 recovering at home, 3 are hospitalized, 50 have recovered and 4 have died.
