Governor Kathy Hochul announced $230 million in awards will go to 9 upstate airports for revitalization projects. The Greater Binghamton/Edwin A Link Field Airport will get $32 million to fund 2 projects, one will entail a relocation of the General Aviation Terminal to integrate it with the Passenger Terminal, The 2nd project will construct a new, 3,000-square-foot General Aviation Customs & Border Protection facility south of the terminal.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 30-year-old Kassondra Pierce of Hamden for endangering the welfare of a child. Deputies received a complaint from Child Protective Services with possible allegations of physical abuse regarding a juvenile. Pierce is accused of striking the victim with excessive force, Pierce was processed and released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hamden Court at a later date.

The State Labor department announced that the number of private sector jobs in New York State increased over the month by more than 27,000, to just over 8 Million in August. New York State’s unemployment rate increased from 4.3% in July to 4.7% in August, The Labor Participation rate was just over 60%, equaling the number just prior to the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The Tri County Chapter of New York State Women will host an AMBA Blood Analysis clinic in Sidney in Sidney Saturday for those who pre-registered. The clinic will be held at the Sidney Elk’s Lodge on River Street from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM Saturday

A.M. NEWS THURSDAY 9-15-22

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 31 year old James Cook of Masonville following an incident on September 8th. Members of the Sheriff’s Office & the owner of a property had completed a court ordered eviction at State Highway 206 in Masonville, Deputies returned to a reported trespass in progress, Deputies’ located Cook, he was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Mischief, 1 count each of Aggravated Harassment, Criminal Trespass, and 2nd degree Burglary. Cook was arraigned in the Town of Masonville Court and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility pending future court action.

Sidney Village Department of Public Works announced that Union Street between Pearl Street & Glen Avenue will be closed to replace a hydrant. The work will begin at 8:00 Am & is expected to be completed at around 3:00 PM.
