State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli announced the results of an audit of the Davenport Fire District. The report stated that District officials have not established adequate controls to ensure that financial activities are properly recorded and reported, and cash is safeguarded. There were no records to support the collection of hall rental receipts. As a result, the Board of Fire Commissioners, the district’s treasurer or auditors are unable to verify whether all hall rental receipts were collected and deposited in a district bank account. District officials agreed with the Comptroller’s recommendations and indicated they initiated corrective action.

Chenango County Public Health reported 9 Positive COVID 19 tests, they report 83 Active Cases, 269 Active Quarantines, 5 hospitalized with 2418 recoveries & 64 deaths since the pandemic began.

State Police arrested 26 year old Justin Cirigliano of Bainbridge, 44 year old Daniel Racquet of Unadilla, & 27 year old Brianna Wubbenhorst of Unadilla for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, after Troopers were dispatched to the Unadilla House where copper pipe was taken, and were visible in a vehicle that left the area. A trooper spotted the vehicle on I-88, initiated a traffic stop. Troopers arrested all 3; they were issued appearance tickets to the town of Unadilla court on April 5th. Wubbenhorst was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the town of Sidney court on April 8th.

Delaware County Public Health reported 32 new COVID cases on Monday out of 114 tests conducted. There are 6 hospitalized, 115 active cases & 224 quarantined. Delaware County Public Health has vaccinated 1,981 people.

The State Health Department reported 152,328 New Yorkers were tested for COVID Monday, with 6,361 positives, for a 4.18% positivity rate. Patient Hospitalization increased by 115 to 4,470, the Number in an ICU bed was down slightly to 885, the number on ventilators went up slightly to 576, there were 46 deaths, and the Total numbers of Deaths is 39,970
