Afton Community Theater and Tri-Town Theatre have teamed up to bring Chazz Palminteri’s movie “A Bronx Tale” into “A Bronx Tale: The Musical.” Cameron Kinnear & George Wells are 2 of the stars of the local production, they talked about the music of the production & their 2 lead characters on WCDO this morning:

The New York State Department of State and the Division of Consumer Protection today alerted consumers about real estate and rental scams, in which scammers work to steal prospective tenants’ money when they are looking to rent a home or an apartment. New Yorkers claimed losses of over $1.7 million during the last 3 years from scammers, if a consumer has fallen victim to a rental scam, they are encouraged to file a complaint with the Division of Consumer Protection. Additional consumer resources on rental scams are available on the Department of State website dos.ny.gov.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced 25 new #VaxtoSchool pop-up vaccination sites to increase vaccination rates among school-aged New Yorkers. In the Southern Tier, 2 sites will be opening Friday, at the Chenango Valley High School from 2:40 pm to 5:00 pm & at the Broome-Tioga BOCES Main Campus in Binghamton from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon. So far, 86 pop up vaccination sites have opened up around the state with more to be scheduled shortly, more information is available at ny.gov/vaxtoschool

The Delaware County Substance Use Task Force announces the launch of DELcovery, a multi-platform hub of information for individuals and families interested in recovery from substance use disorders. The project is a collaborative effort of Delaware County Public Health & The Delaware County Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council, an introductory video produced by VECC Videography debuted this week, featuring Jen Cutting, who told WCDO News about the project:

A.M. NEWS WEDNESDAY 10-20-21

State Police issued 17,797 tickets and arrested 207 people for impaired driving during the special traffic enforcement detail over Columbus Day weekend. The initiative began on Thursday, October 7th and continued through Tuesday, October 12th. Statewide, law enforcement issued a total of 38,255 tickets, including 828 for impaired driving and 10,593 for speeding.
