Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig announced that the city has chosen Trampoline Advertising and Design Co. of Glens Falls to develop and implement Oneonta’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative branding, marketing, downtown directory and welcome signage programs. Oneonta was awarded $570,000 for the programs as part of the state’s DRI award of $10 million.

34 year old Tristan Reid of Scranton Pennsylvania was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, unlicensed operator, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, & several other related charges, following an accident on Main Street last Friday evening. Reid is accused of driving into on-coming traffic, he went up a curb onto a sidewalk and lawn, damaged a street sign, & drove into the side of 365 Main Street. Reid was sent to Otsego County jail on $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond pending future court action.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s department announced that Margaret Thayer was found deceased near her Property in the town of Otsego this morning. Thayer was reported missing back on march 6th, Deep snow drifts had prevented deputies from reaching some of her property behind her residence, an autopsy may be performed, Sheriff Richard Devlin reported that there was no trauma to the body and foul play is not suspected, the investigation is continuing.

The New York Mets & The Binghamton Rumble Ponies made it official today, former NFL player Tim Tebow will start the season in Binghamton. Tebow is slated to make his debut with the Rumble Ponies when they open the 2018 season with a 7-game homestand starting Thursday, April 5 at 6:35 PM at NYSEG Stadium. The next meeting of the Tri-Town Coalition on Substance Abuse prevention, will be held tonight in Sidney. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM at the Sidney Library.

State Leaders are wrapping up work on the State Budget deal, which is due on April 1st, Assembly Minority leader Brian Kolb said that the last minute hold up involves important issues that are not budgetary issues.

Norwich City Police arrested Regina Donovan on charges of Making a Terroristic Threat against a staff member at the Norwich School District Middle School. Donovan was arraigned & was released on her own recognizance, an order of protection was put in place for the staff member & grand jury action is anticipated in April.

State Police arrested 27 year old William Laraby of Burlington for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana and having a Controlled Substance in the Non-Original Container. Troopers received a complaint that Laraby borrowed someone’s car and did not return it; they located Laraby in the town of Exeter. Laraby was arraigned in the town of Exeter and remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.

The Delaware County Board of Elections reminds voters that Friday, March 30th is the last day to postmark a registration form for the April 24th Special Election. April 14th is the last day to register in person at the Board of Elections for the April 24th Special Election to fill the 102nd State Assembly seat. Registration forms and applications for absentee ballots are online at co.delaware.ny.us/departments or by calling 832-5321 or by stopping at their Delhi main office.
