The City of Oneonta Police Department is investigating an incident that took place on April 10th at approximately 2:00am behind 10 Market Street in the City of Oneonta. Village of Delhi Police Department arrested 29-year-old Carmine Yonnone of Delhi for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument and several traffic violations. Yonnone was issued appearance and traffic tickets returnable to the Delhi Town Court. Yonnone was turned over to the Oneonta Police Department on an Arrest Warrant issued by the City of Oneonta Court.

Former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino throwing his hat in the ring for the party’s nomination, as he makes another attempt to run for Governor.  Astorino ran for governor in 2014, losing by a large margin to Andrew Cuomo.  Astorino is the 3rd Republican to announce a run for Governor in 2022; the others are Long Island Congressman Lee Zeldin and Lewis County Sheriff Mike Carpinelli.

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand introduced legislation to permanently implement a Universal School Meals program, which would provide free school meals for all students:

Currently the United States Department of Agriculture provides free schools meals through COVID-19 waivers through the 2021-2022 school year only.  Gillibrand said that her legislation would also encourage the use of local foods in school meal programs, Gillibrand is pushing for the inclusion of the Universal School Meals Program Act of 2021 in the upcoming Child Nutrition Reauthorization currently being negotiated by the Senate Agriculture Committee, and Senator Gillibrand is a member of that Committee.

State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating missing runaway, 16 year old Hannah Riley of Windsor.  Police reported that Hannah never returned home from school last Thursday, April 15th,  she was last seen wearing sweatpants, a pink sweatshirt with the word “Fly” on it, teal crocs and carrying a pink backpack with the word “Champion” on it, she did not have a cell phone with her.  Anyone with information about Hannah Riley’s location should contact New York State Police at Binghamton at 775-1241.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies & SUNY Delhi University Police responded to a physical domestic disturbance involving a weapon on Main Street in Delhi last week.   Deputies arrested 59 year-old Alan Reese with 2nd degree burglary, Criminal contempt & criminal possession of a controlled substance.  Reese is accused of unlawfully entering a residence in violation of an order of protection and engaging in a domestic dispute with the victim.  Reese was arraigned in the Town of Hamden Court and was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail pending his re-appearance in the Town of Hamden Court on a later date.

State Police arrested 29 year old Matthew Bonser of Nanticoke, Pennsylvania for 1st degree Assault, Burglary & Robbery, he was also charged as a Fugitive for Justice in Pennsylvania.    Police responded Saturday to a violent altercation in the Town of Barker, where Bonser allegedly broke into a residence & attacked a 71 year old resident, who was taken to Wilson Hospital.  Bonser is accused of going to another residence & threatening the occupant with a knife & stealing his car.   Bonser was spotted by a Broome County Deputy  & Troopers, he was pursued until he crashed into another vehicle and a pole on Colesville Road.  Bonser & the  87 year old driver in that crash were taken to Wilson Hospital.  Bonser was processed at Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing.

The Norwich Family YMCA announces the postponement of the 25th Anniversary Gus Macker Basketball in Downtown Norwich.  With State guidelines for large scale events in New York State as they currently stand, Macker organizers cannot successfully manage a large “open access” event in our community and requirements as it would add extra costs to the implementation, they hope to have the 25th Macker tournament in July 2022 in Norwich.

Village elections were held in New York State Tuesday.  Locally in the Sidney Trustees race, Incumbent Vic Tartaglia received 118 votes, Pat Cristelli 102 votes, they were elected to the Village Board, and Write in Candidate Teri Schunk received 83 votes.  In Walton Ed Snow Defeated Incumbent Stephen Condon, many other local races featured unopposed candidates.

A new Sienna Poll showed that Voters believe by a 50 to 35% margin that Governor Cuomo should not immediately resign, a similar margin believes that he can continue to effectively do his job as governor.    Voters are satisfied with the way Cuomo has addressed the allegations, by a 57% to 32% margin, they approve of Cuomo’s handling of the pandemic, 60-33%, and voters gave Cuomo a negative grade, 27-66% regarding the reporting of Nursing home deaths during the pandemic.

Chenango County Public Health announced that their website has been updated and there is now a place to register for COVID-19 vaccine appointments at co.chenango.ny.us/public-health/nursing/covid19.  Registration for vaccine appointments must be done online. There will be no Walk-ins; the vaccine will only go to eligible groups outlined by the state Health Department.  The next Chenango Vaccine clinic is this Friday March 19th at the former Label Shopper Store in the South Plaza Center on State Route 12 in Norwich.  Chenango County reported 15 new COVID cases today, they report 2585 total cases, and they have 83 active cases, 247 quarantined and 7 hospitalizations.

The State Department of Labor today released preliminary local area unemployment rates for January 2021.  The State unemployment rate increased to 8.8% in January 2021.  Locally, Chenango County had 6.3% unemployment, Delaware County 6.6% & Otsego County 6.7% in January.

The American Farm Bureau Federation recognized New York Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers and Ranchers program for its efforts to donate more than 8 million pounds of food to the regional food banks across the state last year.  The 8 Million pounds of food collected was through the “Harvest for All” donation program, the food was distributed among the 10 Feeding America food banks throughout the state.

State Police will increase patrols to combat drunk, impaired and reckless driving as St. Patrick’s Day celebrations get underway through Sunday.   Drivers can expect to encounter additional DWI patrols, sobriety checkpoints, State Police will also be ticketing distracted drivers who are using handheld electronic devices, and will also conduct underage drinking and unlawful sales to minor’s details during the campaign.   Last year, Troopers arrested 203 people for DWI, issued 372 tickets for distracted driving and 12,279 tickets in total.

The Binghamton Devils today announced the completion of the March 10 game against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, which was suspended after one period of play, will resume on Monday, April 26 at 6:00 pm.  The score was tied at 1-1 after one period when the game was suspended due to league COVID-19 protocols.  Tonight’s game against Lehigh Valley has been cancelled due to COVID concerns.

Sidney Village Police, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office & State Parole arrested 40 year old James Reigles of Sidney Tuesday on 5 counts of Criminal possession of a controlled substance & 1 count of Criminal Possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.  Police seized methamphetamines, suboxone packing materials & drug paraphernalia during a search of Reigles’ residence.   Reigles was arraigned in Village of Sidney Court, he was released on his own recognizance & was then turned over to New York State Parole, more charges may be forthcoming & the investigation is ongoing.

Chenango County Public Health reported 17 new COVID 19 cases today, they have had a total of 2527 cases in the year since COVID hit New York State, they report 75 Active Cases, 257 Quarantines & 9 hospitalized.

Domestic travelers will no longer be required to quarantine after entering New York from another U.S. State or U.S. Territory starting April 1st.   The State Department of Health still recommends quarantine after domestic travel as an added precaution, Mandatory quarantine remains in effect for international travelers. The Sidney Central School District was just notified that a 9th grade student and a staff have tested positive for COVID-19. They have not been on campus since 2/25 and 3/3 respectively. Governor Cuomo announced today that the State Positivity rate was at 8.3% of all tested for COVID 19 Monday.  Over 152,000 New Yorkers were tested statewide Monday, with 12,666 testing positive, hospitalization went up to almost 8600, there were 149 deaths.

A Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was assaulted on County Road 10 in the Town of Pharsalia Monday night. 44 year old Seymour Shaver was wanted on an active arrest warrant from a previous incident, the Deputy approached Shaver and attempted to take him into custody,  Shaver struck the Deputy several times & fled the scene.  The Deputy was taken to Chenango Memorial Hospital and was transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with serious, non-life threatening injuries.  This Afternoon, Sheriff Cutting announced that Shaver was taken into custody in Pharsalia without incident in connection with the assault of the Deputy.

Chenango County Public Health added 12 new Active Cases bringing their total to 188, with 10 hospitalizations, & 497 Active Quarantines.  Chenango County Public Health also reported that There is a limited amount of vaccines in Chenango County and the vaccine has been designated by NYS for only the priority groups listed in Phase 1a, Chenango County health department has not received any vaccine, but they anticipate the 1st delivery in a week or so.

State Police announced today that they continue to investigate the 1980 murder of 30-year-old Barry Marquart of Binghamton.  On November 9, 1980, State Police in Oneonta were contacted Marquart’s father, who stated his son Barry had been missing from his Binghamton apartment by his roommate.   Marquart’s car was found parked at the Exit 5 rest area on Interstate 81, Troopers found Marquart’s body in the Chenango River, an autopsy determined the victim had blows to his head and face.  The case remains open 40 years later, anyone with information is asked to call State Police in Sidney at 561-7400.

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced that her first bill in the new Congress will be her Health Force, Resilience Force, and Jobs to Fight COVID-19 Act in order to aid the country’s lagging vaccine distribution campaign.

Senator Gillibrand said that in New York State, only 236,941 of 774,075 doses available have been given. Federal aid is urgently needed to assist state and local health departments and providers who are already overburdened by mass testing and contact tracing efforts and a deadly holiday surge in COVID-19 cases.

Some new laws went into effect January 1st, among them: The state will be increasing the minimum wage from $11.80 an hour to $12.50 an hour. Workers in the fast-food industry will see an increase from $13.75 an hour to $14.50 an hour.  Also Workers who are eligible will now have access to up to 12 weeks of job-protected paid time off, mainly this is for those with a newborn, or those recovering from or assisting a loved one who is ill with COVID or other serious illnesses, or to assist a loved one who’s family member is deployed overseas.

The state is also amending some election laws this year.   A recount in elections statewide will be automatically done when the margin of victory for a candidate 0.2% of all votes cast. Recounts for all other elections will be done if the margin of victory is 0.5% of all votes cast. The recounts would be done manually.

Governor Cuomo announced that the first confirmed case of the UK strain of COVID-19 virus has been detected in Saratoga Springs, it was detected by the Department of Health’s Wadsworth laboratory & the strain was traced back to an individual affiliated with a Saratoga Springs jewelry store and all individuals who visited the store from December 18 through December 24 are encouraged to contact the Department of Health and receive a COVID-19 test immediately.

The State Health Department announced that there were 534 new positive coronavirus tests statewide on Monday, bringing the total number up to 412,878.  The number of death was up to 25,126 with 8 more deaths reported Monday attributed to the virus.

Governor Cuomo announced today that New York has added 3 more states to the travel advisory; Illinois, Kentucky and Minnesota.  Governor Cuomo also added Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico to the advisory, along with 34 states.  Anyone traveling to New York from the location mentioned in the advisory must quarantine for 14 days to monitor for coronavirus symptoms.

The State Division of Consumer Protection is reminding businesses and consumers about a State law related to telemarketing activity during a declared state of emergency.  The law passed last year, makes it unlawful for any telemarketer to make an unsolicited sales call to any person under a declared state of emergency or disaster emergency, the law was amended earlier this year to include pandemics.   Any consumer who has received an unsolicited telemarketing call is encouraged to report it at donotcall.gov or by calling 888-382-1222.

Brandon Clark appeared in Oneida County Court today & asked the judge to withdraw his guilty plea for the murder of 17-year-old Bianca Devins.   Clark will be assigned a new attorney, he had pleaded guilty to killing Devins in Utica during the weekend of the Boilermaker race in 2019 & positing pictures of the deceased teenager on social media, which led to his arrest.  Clark claimed in court that his previous attorney coerced him into pleading guilty earlier this year.

Johnson City Police have identified that person found dead in a pickup truck Friday as 27 year old Omar Terry of Johnson City.  Terry was found in a wrecked vehicle near Exit 70 of State Route 17, he had both gunshot & stab wounds, 25 year old Brandon Rose of Endicott has been charged with the murder.

The State Health Department announced 769 new Positive Coronavirus tests Wednesday, bringing the state total to 404,775 since March.  there were 11 deaths from the Virus Wednesday, bringing the state death toll to 25,014.  about 1% of those tested Wednesday tested positive.

Delaware County Public Health reported 1 new case of COVID-19 and no additional recoveries Thursday. The known active cases is 3, there have been 85 positive cases since March, with 32 people quarantined, 3 people are isolated at home, none are hospitalized, 6 have died & 76 have recovered.

Chenango County Public Health continues to see an uptick in Coronavirus cases, they are now up to 175 total cases, with 132 active Quarantines, no one is Hospitalized 149 have recovered, they have reported 6 deaths, & they have conducted over 13,700 tests.

Starting today, renters across the state impacted by the pandemic can apply to a new COVID Rental Assistance Program, for tenants who lost income due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Gabriel Truitt will be sentenced in Otsego County Court Friday on Murder & Arson charges, for setting the fire at Walling Avenue that killed former Oneonta fireman John Heller on December 29th, 2018.  Truitt started the fire in the building for revenge against an ex-girlfriend; Heller lived in another apartment in the building & died getting others out.  Truitt will appear live in Court Friday, as in person court appearances are back following virtual court action through the pandemic period.

A report released by New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli found 50% of the contracts in 2019 between Not-for-Profit organizations and the state were not processed until after the contract start date. DiNapoli’s report showed that  50% were processed after their start or renewal dates, he recommends that State agencies make prompt contracting a priority, The Not-for-Profit Contracting Advisory Committee should meet regularly & that State agencies should use electronic means to pay promptly & pay any interest due with the first payment to avoid cash flow problems.

SUNY Broome officials announced today that they have donated personal protective equipment to help shortages at local healthcare facilities.   The campus has Nursing & Dental programs, and during the shutdown from tehe Coronavirus, they donated 8,000 gloves, 750 surgical masks, 100 N95 masks and 150 gowns.  Local residents who have similar items to donate can drop them off at the old Macy’s building in the Oakdale Mall Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The State budget for the 2020-2021 fiscal year is wrapped up, State Budget Director Robert Mujica said that the state will lose 10 billion dollars in revenue between now & July 15th, due to the virtual shutdown of the state, and the push back of filing state taxes until July 15th, all due to the Coronavirus.  The budget shortfall is expected to be about 15 billion dollars in the new budget, the state does have some money in reserve to deal with it, the final budget will be revisited in the months ahead after the number of Coronavirus cases decreases to manageable levels & non-essential workers can go back to work & state tax revenues can be collected again.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating complaints of vandalism to an agricultural field in the Town of Hamden.   A vehicle was identified as a result of surveillance camera images, Deputies arrested 18 year-old Austin Moxham of Delhi with driving while ability impaired by drugs, failure to display a front license plate,  unlawful possession of marihuana & criminal mischief.   Moxham was issued appearance tickets for Town of Hamden Court on a later date.

The New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment will meet on April 9 at 10:30 AM to consider petitions for rehearing of the Siting Board’s December 2019 approval of Bluestone Wind, LLC’s application for Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need to build and operate a 124-megawatt wind facility with 27 wind turbines in the Towns of Windsor and Sanford.  The Siting Board determined that the facility met the statutory requirements for certification; the parties seeking rehearing are Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society, Broome County Concerned Residents and a resident of the Village of Johnson City.  The meeting will be conducted by teleconference at dps.ny.gov/Webcasts.

Delaware County has had its first death from the coronavirus; the deceased had been hospitalized with the disease and died Wednesday.  Delaware County has 20 positive cases so far, excluding 3 positive tests that were returned to their county of residence.  2 people have recovered, 10 are recovering at Home, 6 are hospitalized, 43 are in Mandatory Quarantine & 9 are in Precautionary Quarantine, 182 people have been tested.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an on-line computer repair scam that led to significant financial loss to an elderly local resident.  Investigators were contacted by The Delaware National Bank of Delhi, the customer had fallen victim twice to an on-line Pop-Up scam and lost thousands of dollars, the victim was stopped from further issues by an alert UPS employee. The investigation is on-going by Delaware County Sheriff’s Investigators and San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.  Sheriff DuMond reminds the public that they should contact the Sheriff’s Office or local law enforcement if they may be the target of a scam or identity theft.  On-line complaint forms are available through the State Attorney General, ag.ny.gov; the Federal Trade Commission, consumer.ftc.gov; and the FBI at ic3.gov.

Officials with Quest Diagnostics announced that the AMBA Blood Clinic will continue as planned tomorrow morning at the Sidney Elks Lodge.  The event will run from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM, officials said that just over 80 people have made appointments, spread out over the 3 1/2 hours, which falls within the parameters set by the State Health Department Thursday.

State Police will increase patrols to combat drunk, impaired and reckless driving as St. Patrick’s Day celebrations get underway this weekend. This enforcement detail begins today and runs through next Wednesday.  Drivers can expect to encounter additional DWI patrols and a number of sobriety checkpoints during the enforcement period. State Police will also be ticketing districted drivers who are using handheld electronic devices, and will also conduct underage drinking and unlawful sales to minor’s details during the campaign.  The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee & the State STOP-DWI Foundation suggest that people download the “Have a Plan” mobile app, to locate and call a taxi service and program a designated driver list.

The Chenango County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution to implement a 4% occupancy “Bed” tax in Chenango County. The new Law will provide a dedicated funding stream to promote and develop the tourism industry in Chenango County and to reduce pressure on the property tax levy.  Chenango County has been one of just a few counties in New York State that had not previously collected a bed tax.   Tourism is New York’s 3rd largest industry, hosting 253 million visitors annually who spend 71.8 billion at NYS businesses creating 114.8 billion in economic impact.

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association announced that regional & state championships will be postponed indefinitely.  The impacted events include Ice Hockey, Bowling & the Boys & Girls Basketball regional & State Championships.  Officials announced the postponements were due to the reports of the Corona Virus outbreaks across the state, to insure the safety & health of the student athletes.

State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 16 year old Aiden Demorier of Bloomville, who was last seen on November 19th.  Demorier is white, 5’10”, 180 pound with blonde hair and brown eyes, wearing black sweatpants with a white stripe down the sides and a dark colored sweatshirt. On Tuesday, Delaware County Sheriff’s Department Investigators, assisted by Correction Officers, arrested 29-year-old William Laraby of Utica, for Promoting Prison Contraband.  Laraby is incarcerated at the Delaware County Correctional Facility on an unrelated Sexual Abuse, charge, is accused SubOxone & another controlled substance while inside the facility.   Laraby remains incarcerated at the Delaware County Correctional Facility & will be arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court on December 17th.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputies responded to County Hwy 21 in the Town of Walton for a report of a property damage auto accident Saturday.   Deputies arrested 49 year old Joseph Lavin of Collingwood, New Jersey for Driving While Intoxicated, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, Speed not reasonable and prudent and failure to keep right. Several local, state and national animal welfare agencies and private donors are now offering a total of $16, 500 reward leading to the conviction of the person(s) responsible after the case has gained national attention. The following agencies have contributed: the Animal Legal Defense Fund $10,000, People for Ethical Treatment of Animals $5,000, the New York State Humane Association $1,000 and a private donation $500. Governor Cuomo today announced that more than $763 million in economic and community development funding has been awarded through Round 8 of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative. Locally, the Southern Tier RDC, which covers Delaware & Broome Counties, will get 65.4 Million dollars for various projects, Central New York, which includes Chenango County, receives 88.2 million dollars, and the Mohawk Valley region, which includes Otsego County, receives in 85.4 Million dollars.

NY State of Health announced that enrollment reached 4.7 million at close of business on December 15th, the deadline for January 1st 2019 coverage. Enrollment volumes in Qualified Health Plans and the Essential Plan outpaced last year’s levels with over 83,000 more people enrolled compared to last year.

Charter Spectrum will pay a record $174 million and refund customers in New York $62 million in a settlement over claims it defrauded internet subscribers. The settlement announced Tuesday by the State Attorney General’s Office is the largest consumer payment by an internet provider in U.S. history. Charter Spectrum has agreed to provide some premium cable channels for free to customers as part of the deal, customers will each receive between $75 and $150, and they will also get streaming services and premium channels, with a retail value of over $100 million, at no charge for about 2.2 million active subscribers.

The Oneonta Common Council will hold their next regular meeting this evening at 7:00 PM at City Hall. A Public hearing will be held regarding Sewers another will be held regarding fire prevention, the meeting is open to the public.

Emergency crews responded to a Tractor Trailer fire at about 12:00 Noon today. The fire was knocked down quickly & the westbound lanes of I-88 were re-opned quickly, WCDO news will have further details as they become available.

The Binghamton Devils donated over six barrels of non-perishable food to CHOW today with the help of team captain, Kevin Rooney. The food was collected from fans during the Put the Biscuit in the Basket food drive from November 28 to December 15, 2018. Totaling 1,415 pounds, the provisions will help feed Broome County families in need this holiday season.

Senator Fred Akshar will continue the second year of his district-wide “Akshar’s All-Stars” student recognition program on Tuesday by recognizing students at one Broome County school and three Chenango County schools. Each month, Senator Akshar recognizes local students selected by their school districts in the 52nd Senate District who have shown great leadership, compassion, school spirit or improvement amongst their peers. Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig is expected to ask the Oneonta Common Council to re-name the Oneonta Municipal Airport in honor of former Oneonta Mayor & Businessman Sam Nader at their December 4th meeting. Nader rallied to have an airport established when he was mayor of Oneonta in the 60’s.

The National Baseball Hall Of Fame & Museum will celebrate the Boston Red Sox’s 2018 World Series championship through Autumn Glory, the annual tribute to the World Series Champions in Cooperstown. The exhibit is now open, it features artifacts from the Red Sox, including a bat used by World Series MVP Steve Pearce, A jersey worn by David Price, Game-worn glasses used by Joe Kelly, a Hoodie worn by Red Sox manager Alex Cora in Game 5 & a Helmet worn by Brock Holt. State Police Superintendent George Beach announced the line of duty death of Trooper Jeremy VanNostrand this morning. Trooper VanNostrand was reporting to work at the State Police barracks in Fonda when he was involved in a motor vehicle crash at about 7:45 AM. The investigation revealed that Trooper VanNostrand was stopped in traffic in his personal vehicle, waiting to turn into the station, when he was rear-ended and pushed into oncoming traffic; he was transported to Albany Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Trooper VanNostrand served with the State Police for 6 years, he is survived by his wife & daughter, and funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.

Troopers were dispatched on July 22nd to the Cracker Barrel in Dickinson for the report of an employee’s vehicle stolen. The vehicle was located in a nearby parking lot; a wallet containing money and credit cards was reported missing. Warner is accused of walking into the restaurant and taking the victim’s keys. Warner was arrested and arraigned in the town of Dickinson Court & she was remanded to the Broome County Jail on cash bail pending future court action.

Troopers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Morgan Road in Binghamton. State Police responded to a fatal accident Saturday at approximately 8:20 p.m. on State Route 23 in the town of Oneonta. 45-year-old Katy Doughty of Walton was crossing State Route 23 near State Highway 28 when she was struck by a vehicle, the section of road is not lit and she was not crossing at a crosswalk. 2 people provided CPR, Oneonta EMS and Fire attempted to provide lifesaving measures but were unable to, Doughty was pronounced dead at the scene, she was transported to Lourdes Hospital for an autopsy. The accident remains under investigation, no tickets have been issued.

State Police arrested 20 year old Andrew Keil of Oneonta for Falsely Reporting an Incident and Making a Punishable False Written Statement. Troopers were dispatched to a report of a burglary at Keil’s residence, he reported that approximately $1,360 was taken, Investigators were able to determine that Keil lied to troopers and signed a statement about the incident and he was arrested. He was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Oneonta Court on Tuesday.

State Police arrested 21 year old Alicia Randall of Edmeston for DWI, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer and Reckless Driving. A trooper on patrol on County Road 20 in Edmeston observed the vehicle Randall was operating to be traveling at a high rate of speed. When the trooper attempted to make a traffic stop, Randall passed another vehicle in a no passing zone then turned onto High Street before stopping, she was arrested and released an appearance tickets returnable to the town of Edmeston Court on October 29th.

Figary was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, he faces arraignment shortly.

Fire Investigators are trying to determine what started a fire in a trailer at the Sidney Unadilla Trailer Park on State Route 7 Thursday afternoon. The fire was called in at about 1:00 PM Thursday, the 1st trailer was fully involved when fire fighters arrived, 3 occupants escaped without injury, a neighboring trailer suffered some minor damage. Fire fighters from Unadilla, Sidney, Otego & Wells Bridge responded, no injuries were reported.

2 minors have been charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespassing & unlawful possession of a weapon, following vandalism at the Morris Central School District that occurred Sunday. The 2 are accused of breaking a window, soccer nets, and screens, and for shooting at a security camera. The Morris school district was closed Monday while officers investigated.
