Broome County District Attorney Steve Cornwell announced that 49 year old Michael Gumaer pleaded guilty today In Broome County Court to 1st Degree Rape. Gumaer was arrested following the report of an attack on a 12-year-old Girl in August 2016 in Endicott. Gumaer will be sentenced on February 17th, 2017.

38-year-old Justin Barkley told a judge in Tompkins County Court that believed that he was shooting President Elect Donald Trump, at the Ithaca Wal-Mart parking lot on December 8th, and not UPS Driver William Schumacher. The judge has ordered Barkley to undergo a mental evaluation, to determine if Barkley is competent to stand trial. Barkley was taken into police custody after fleeing the scene, shooting at Police & engaging law enforcement in a standoff.

The recent “Selfies With Elfies” for Sarah fundraiser, raised over $750 dollars with events in Bainbridge & Afton. The money raised assisted Sarah Richardson has stage 4 Liver Cancer, & is the mother of a 3-year-old boy, Organizer Heather Bucalos is also a cancer survivor and she told WCDO News that she will continue to plan local fundraisers for those battling cancer & facing rising medical costs.

State Police responded Monday & Tuesday of this week to the Afton School, after written Bomb Threats were found in bathrooms, and were reported to the district office. Police found no sign of bombs, the school was in lockdown today during the search. No arrests have been made & the investigation is ongoing.
