State police responded to an Otsego County 911 report of a car-pedestrian accident on Main Street in Unadilla. 15 year old Edward McKinnely of Unadilla was walking with another person on the westbound shoulder of Main Street when he was struck by an SUV driven by 47 year old Michelle Swift of Unadilla Police said that the accident occurred on a dark roadway near the shoulder at about 5:30 PM Monday, Swift was not intoxicated or impaired by drugs. McKinnely was transported by LifeNet to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse with severe head and body injuries; he succumbed to the injuries earlier today.

The “Selfies with Elfies For Sarah” fundraiser will be held this Saturday from 5:15 to 8:00 PM at the Bainbridge Town Hall. Sarah Richardson has stage 4 Liver Cancer, & is the mother of a 3-year-old boy. There is a chance that the state legislature gets called back a special session before the end of the year, & they may try to get a pay raise for themselves. Area Assemblyman Pete Lopez comments:

Governor Cuomo is expected to lobby for more stringent ethics reforms in exchange for any possible deal on lawmakers pay raises. The state legislature has not had a pay raise in 17 years.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced that Luis Rojas will serve as the team’s manager for the 2017 season. Rojas managed the Single A Saint Lucie Mets for the previous 2 seasons, he replaces Pedro Lopez, who served for 5 years as Binghamton manager, and he has been promoted & will manage the AAA Las Vegas 51’s in 2017.
