The Southern Tier Music Festival will be held July 1st at the Sidney Airport with a number of musical acts and other activities scheduled, The idea was started by Ed Curley of Sidney, it grew to include area businesses, 4Towns Forward & Millenia Entertainment. Ed Curley & Teri Schunk of 4Towns Forward made the announcement on WCDO this morning:

The Clocks will go ahead 1 hour for Daylight Saving Time Sunday at 2:00 AM officially. When yo go to bed on Saturday night, move all of your clocks ahead 1 hour, and also make sure to replace batteries in old style smoke detectors as well this weekend.

The State DEC announced that the annual Spring Brush Burning Ban will begin next week. The burn ban runs from March 16th through May 14th this year, more information is available at dec.ny.gov.

Delaware County District Attorney’s office announced that 74 year old Gary Miller of Sidney pleaded guilty to Endangering the welfare of a child. Miller admitted to touching a 10 year old female inappropriately, he was sentenced to 6 days in jail followed by a 1 year conditional discharge, he was also ordered to pay over $400 in fees, and he is required to submit DNA for the state’s DNA Data bank.

19th District Congressman Marc Molinaro announced he will host town halls in Otsego, Delaware Counties next week, Molinaro said that the town halls will be an important part of his tenure in Congress:

The Otsego County Town Hall will be held Monday, at 11:00am at the Oneonta Town Hall in West Oneonta, followed by the Delaware County Town Hall at 1:00 PM at the Walton Fire House, The town halls are open to the public.

The New York Central Mutual Foundation announced a $50,000 donation to the United Way of Delaware and Otsego Counties in support of its mission to improve the quality of life for local residents in the areas of income, education, and health. In addition to the foundation’s donation, NYCM Insurance employees surpassed their goal in fundraising for the United Way of Delaware and Otsego Counties. A total of $2,077 was donated by 130 employees across the state, surpassing their goal of $2,000.
