Sidney town officials announced that there will be a public open house at the new Town Facilities at 44 Grand Street in the village of Sidney this Saturday, Sidney Town Supervisor Gene Pigford explains:

State Senator Fred Akshar has posted a survey on his website to get constituents opinions on prospective legislation by State Senator Kevin Parker of Brooklyn, which would allow for background checks of the social media accounts for those seeking to purchase weapons:

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Department has arrested 31 year old Stephanie Shulgay of Worcester for 3rd degree Grand larceny. Shulgay is accused of stealing about $11,000 dollars from a Worcester family while working as a home aide. Shulgay was arraigned in Worcester Town Court & was released in his her recognizance pending future court action.

Officials with Dick’s Sporting Goods Open announced today that Keith Urban will be the concert perfromer on August 16th in Endicott. Tickets for that show will be available December 14th through Ticketmaster.com.

The Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre & Gallery Presents “The Christmas Spectacular” Saturday, featuring the Sidney Community Band performing seasonal music, the Out of the Woodwork Players performing the skit, and an appearance by Santa Claus. The show is a benefit for the Bainbridge and Sidney Food Pantries, starting at 2:00 PM with Free Admission, but food or cash donations will be accepted for the pantries.

The Village of Afton has scheduled their Christmas parade & festivities for tomorrow. Due to the current Bridge Construction, a New Parade Line up Location has been announced, on Court Street by the Afton Central School Athletic Fields, and the parking lot behind the Afton bus garage. The parade will go along State Route 41 & go along Main Street, participants are asked to arrive no later than 4:15pm. Also, live music is scheduled from Frankie Cepero starting at 4:00 pm in front of the NBT Bank, there will be refreshments provided by the Greater Afton Chamber of Commerce in the VFW.

State Police arrested 26 year old Jordan Dilello of Oneonta for DWI after a trooper was dispatched to a 1 car accident on Winney Hill Road in the town of Oneonta. The trooper observed a vehicle partially in a ditch and partially blocking part of the travel lane, Dilello & 21 of his 2 passengers were taken to Fox Hospital, he was released & was arrested & was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Oneonta Court on December 4th.

State Police arrested 43 year old Darcy Rogers of Greene for Aggravated DWI with a B.A.C of .23%. Troopers observed Rogers operating her vehicle in the village of Greene, a traffic stop was initiated and she was arrested. Rogers was released on appearance tickets returnable to the village of Greene Court on December 11th.

The Toys for Tots Train is scheduled to arrive in Bainbridge Saturday at at 11:45 at the Walnut Street Crossing, spokesman Roger Barnhart explains:

The Toys for Tots Train will move on to Oneonta where it is scheduled to stop at the Gas Avenue crossing at about 1:45 PM Saturday.

The Bainbridge-Guilford Teachers’ Association is hosting its 8th Annual Craft Fair, in the Greenlawn Elementary School Gymnasium tomorrow from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Many local artists and crafters will be featured, along with crafts for kids, a pancake breakfast, and a Chinese Auction, with proceeds benefiting the Student Council’s Angel Fund which provides holiday food baskets for local families in need. Admission is free.
