The Broome County Special investigations Unit Task Force executed a search warrant at 62 1/2 Wheeler Street in Deposit Friday afternoon at 2:00 PM, they seized Heroin, Fentanyl, Methamphetamines, with a net worth well over one million dollars, plus $24,000 in cash & Property. Arrested were Johanna DeGraw of Deposit & Marlon Graham of Deposit, on a variety of drug charges, both were arraigned Friday night & were remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail pending future court action.

State Police arrested 56 year old Stephen Christoffersen of Port Crane for felony DWI, after a trooper was dispatched to a 1 car rollover on County Route 32 in the town of Greene. When the trooper arrived, he located the vehicle on its side, Christoffersen was not injured, and He was arrested and arraigned in the town of Oxford Court where he was released on his own recognizance.

The City of Oneonta Department of Public Service is repairing a water main break at 42 River Street between Ann Street and West Ann Street today. Residents on Ann Street, West Ann, and Meckley Avenue will be without water for a portion of the project. Parking on the street will not be permitted, and the street will be closed to traffic for the duration of work. A detour route along Mitchell, Huntington, and Burnside has been established, however those affected may wish to seek alternate routes. More information is available at 432-2100

State Police arrested 27 year Sabrina Gray of New Berlin for felony of Aggravated DWI after a trooper was dispatched to State Highway 12 in the town of Norwich to check on a female who appeared to be sleeping in her parked vehicle. The trooper observed the vehicle running with Gray in the driver’ seat and a 5-year-old child in the passenger’s seat. Gray was arrested & the child was turned over to a family member. Gray was arraigned in the town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 property bond.

the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce will hold their first Friday Eat & Meet breakfast for membership this Friday from 8:30 to 10:00 am at the Delaware & Ulster Railroad in Arkville. Members are reminded to register at delawarecounty.org to register. The American Red Cross is facing a severe blood shortage & they will hold 2 area blood drives today. A Blood Drive in Oneonta will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at Hillside Commons, at 150 Blodgett Drive, a blood drive in Gilbertsville will be held from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at the Christ Episcopal Church, on Marion Avenue. Blood donors of all blood types, especially type O, are urged to make an appointment to donate at RedCrossBlood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

State Police at Troop C are warning residents of a phone scam where the caller claims to be with NYSEG. Troopers recently have received several complaints from businesses where scammers threaten to cut service unless it’s immediately paid using a prepaid debit card. The scam also provides a call back number with a recorded greeting similar to that of NYSEG. Troopers warn residents never to trust anyone who calls you and asks you to make a payment using a prepaid card. If you have any questions about your NYSEG bill, call them directly.

The City of Oneonta will be performing maintenance on the down ramp between the upper & middle levels of the municipal parking garage starting today. Work is expected to take about 1 week to complete, the Lower & Middle levels will remain open during the project, all of the other downtown parking lots will be open as usual.

State Police arrested 42 year old Christopher Prosser of Norwich, for Unlawful Imprisonment and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Investigators learned that a child disclosed to another party that Prosser held the victim down in a chair and allegedly looked down the victim’s shirt in the summer, he is a registered Level 3 sex offender, and he was arraigned in the town of Oxford Court where he was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $10,000 cash bail. He is set to appear in the town of Norwich Court on December 6th. The judge also issued an order of protection to the victim.

State Police arrested 61 year old Gregory Brown of Greene for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, after a trooper initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle Brown was operating on County Route 26 in the town of Afton. Brown was observed crossing the double yellow line, he arrested and later released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Afton Court December 17.
