State Police at Norwich are looking for tips in locating 26-year-old Amber Garrison of Smyrna, who was last seen at the Super 8 motel in Norwich on August 9th, she has not had any contact with family since July 19th.  Garrison is a white female, 5′ 7″; she may be driving a red 2012 Chevy Traverse with NY license Plates HXK-6632.  Anyone with information is asked to call State Police at Troop C in Sidney at 561-7400.

Governor Cuomo is proposing a new Law to specifically penalize domestic terrorism a response to recent mass shootings across the country targeting Hispanics, Jews, Gays and other, by home grown radicalized white males.  Cuomo said that the bill would penalize those committing mass shootings as hate crimes should face the same penalties of life in prison without parole, as those who committed the 9/11 terrorist acts.  The bill could be passed this year if Cuomo calls lawmakers back to Albany by the end of the year, or he could wait for the start of next year’s session in January.

Delaware County Sheriff’s department & State Police arrested 44 year old James Stiefel of Mount Vision following the report of a domestic dispute Wednesday afternoon on Pine Cliff Circle in Davenport.  Stiefel is accused of forcibly entering the residence and threatening the occupant with a knife before fleeing; he was found a short time later & taken into custody.   Deputies discovered that Stiefel possessed a portable methamphetamine laboratory at the Davenport location, the State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team was summoned & sheriff’s investigators obtained a search warrant.   Stiefel was charged with burglary, menacing, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon, and harassment as well as several drug charges, he was remanded to the Delaware County Jail without bail pending further court action.

State Police arrested 60 year old Frank DiPasquale of Sanford for DWI & Criminal Possession of Marihuana, after Troopers observed DiPasquale failing to stop at a stop sign near Commercial Drive and Main Street in the village of Afton.  DiPasquale was processed and later released on appearance tickets to the town of Afton court returnable on September 26th.

State Police arrested Edward Gagliano for DWI, after Troopers observed Gagliano with no operating tail lights while on I-88 in the town of Bainbridge.  Gagliano was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Bainbridge on September 3rd, he was then turned over to a sober third party.

The 27th Chenango Bluesfest continues with a free lineup tonight at the Fairgrounds in Norwich.  Blues fest organizer Eric Larsen said that the festival gets bigger every year:

The Chenango County Farm Bureau announced that they have teamed up with the New York Center for Agricultural Medicine & Health for a presentation Monday in Norwich, regarding safety issues with farm equipment, Farm Bureau President Bradd Vickers explains;

The Sidney American Legion will hold a 100 Year Anniversary open House Saturday, Spokesman Larry Halbert commented about the Legion’s history:
