The State University of New York announced that for a limited time, High School Seniors wanting to apply to a SUNY school, get five free SUNY applications from Monday, October 16 through Sunday, October 29, using either the ApplySUNY Application or the Common App. The free application offer only applies to applications submitted between October 16 and October 29, 2023. 39 year old Orlando Torres of Binghamton was found guilty by a Broome County Jury for 2 counts of criminal possession of a Controlled Substance & 1 count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a search warrant on a Binghamton apartment, Officer seized 20 grams of fentanyl, Cash from drug sales and a digital scale. Torres faces up to 12 years in state prison when sentenced next month.

The Mid York Concert band is looking for musicians to join them, as they prepare their annual Holiday performances. The next rehearsal is coming up on Tuesday, according to band leader Doug Ernst, who told WCDO News that musicians can still sign up & be ready in time for the Holiday Concert in December:

State Police & Emergency Crews responded to a Tractor Trailer Accident on I-88 Eastbound between exits 5 & 6 earlier this afternoon. Eastbound traffic was detoured to Route 7, the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.

The Delaware county Chamber of Commerce is teaming up again this year for a county wide “Toys For Tots” collection for disadvantaged children. Businesses interested in having a collection box should contact the Delaware County Chamber as soon as possible, Chamber staff will pick up the toys from participating businesses and will deliver them to Delaware Opportunities for distribution of the gifts to Delaware County families. The Otsego County Sheriff’s office arrested 24 year old Kristen Knapp of Cooperstown following an investigation of a motor vehicle accident on September 23rd. Knapp was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated DWI, Speed not reasonable and prudent, along with other charges following an accident at County Highway 33 and County Highway 11C in the Town of Middlefield. Knapp will appear in Town of Middlefield Court at a later date.

Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 45 year old Jeremy Stimpson of Laurens for 4th Degree Grand Larceny following an investigation of a larceny in Otego, he was held for arraignment at the Otsego County Correctional Facility.
