Susquehanna SPCA announced 2 programs in October made possible by grants from the ASPCA in partnership with Subaru. Five Star Subaru in Oneonta will donate $100 for every dog or cat adopted from the shelter, On Wednesday October 11 and on October 25, a special low-cost clinic supported by a $4,000 ASPCA grant will make spay or neuter procedures available for dogs of income-qualified individuals at a cost of $100 per dog. The next Nate Lull Scholarship Fundraiser will be held at Awestruck Ciders in Sidney this Sunday from 11am to 5pm, Lull told WCDO News that Sunday’s fundraiser is one of the key fundraisers for the Scholarship:

The inductees will be recognized at Halftime at this Friday’s Sidney Football game & the Induction ceremony will be Saturday starting at 5:00 PM at the Sidney Elks Lodge.

State Police and Emergency crews responded to a crash on I-88 eastbound in Colesville between exits 5 and 6 yesterday afternoon. An investigation revealed that a pick-up truck was pulling vehicles on a trailer, the operator lost control and rolled the vehicles, blocking both lanes. Some traffic was able to pass on the shoulder before the Interstate was shut down and travelers were re-routed off exit 5 to State Highway 7 then back on to I-88 at exit 6. The operator was a 51-year-old male of Elmira, He was treated on scene but did not wish to be transported to a hospital.

State officials and members of the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services’ Office of Fire Prevention and Control will preside over the 26th Annual New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial Ceremony today. State officials will honor 29 fallen firefighters at the 26th Annual Ceremony, at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, starting at 11:00 AM.
