A U.S. District Court Judge has temporarily blocked New York State from issuing recreational marijuana dispensary licenses while a legal challenge to the state’s selection process is being considered. The preliminary injunction comes after Judge Sharpe is hearing a legal challenge from Variscite NY One, which claims the state’s selection process favors New York residents over out-of-state residents in violation of interstate commerce protections.

The Greater Oneonta Historical Society, the City of Oneonta and Otsego Now, will unveil a new historical marker for the D&H Roundhouse on Roundhouse Road in Oneonta, Friday. The historical marker registers and documents one of the largest roundhouses in the nation, the public ceremony to unveil the Historical Marker will be held on Friday, at 12:00 noon at the corner of Roundhouse Road and Fonda Avenue in Oneonta on the property of A Treffeisen & Son LLC.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33 year old Jade Stauffer on November 8th, Stauffer was a Federal Inmate who was being held at the Delaware County Correctional Facility as a Fugitive from Justice from Pennsylvania. Stauffer was being held in the Correctional Facility for violating the terms and conditions of her Federal Probation, as well as having an active warrant in the State of Pennsylvania. This warrant included 16 charges, including Homicide by Vehicle While Driving Under the Influence, Aggravated Assault by Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and Involuntary Manslaughter. Stauffer was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court, and ordered held pending further action by Delaware County Court.

Acco Brands of Sidney donated $1500 to the Sidney Veteran’s Memorial Park on Friday, Spokesman Doug Barnard told WCDO News what the money will be used for:

The Sidney Veterans Memorial Park committee will also schedule another fundraising golf tournament next year.

The Broome County Legislature adopted the 2023 County budget. The budget includes the 5th consecutive property tax cut for residents while maintaining County services. The budget now goes to Broome County Executive Jason Garnar for approval.
