The 7th & Final “Rock In The Park” benefit concert will be held next month at General Clinton park in Bainbridge, Organizer Jason Hall explains:

Hall said that this year they are raising money for the Bainbridge Community Foundation, which underwrites free concerts in the park through the summer.

The Afton Area Girl Scouts, Afton School District & others are teaming up to send Girl Scout Cookies & care packages to military veteran overseas. Laura Vanderheide is coordinating the effort:

US Senators Chuck Schumer & Kirsten Gillibrand announced over $67 million dollars in federal funding has become available for public housing across the state, Locally, Oneonta Housing authority will receive over $207,000 & the Norwich Housing Authority will receive over $205,000.

John Czarnecki has been named Director of Athletics and Chair of Physical Education at Hartwick College. He assumes his new position July 16, 2018, and he will oversee 16 NCAA Division III programs. Czarnecki comes to Hartwick College from Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY, where he served as its director of athletics for five years.

State Police & Sidney Police conducted a search warrant of a residence in the Village of Sidney, Police to recovered stolen property from Burglaries in Chenango and Otsego counties. An 18 year old male was charged with 2 counts of felony Burglary, attempted Burglary and Criminal Mischief; He was arraigned and was returned to the Delaware County Jail on unrelated alleged charges. Troopers also arrested 39 year old Jason Blass of Oneonta for attempted Burglary; he was arraigned & was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. Also, an 18 year old male from Unadilla was charged with 2nd degree Burglary & attempted Burglary; he was arraigned in the town of Guilford and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

State Police announced that 63 year old Wilson Perez of Otego has been located Sunday morning and in New Jersey & was in good health. Perez was reported missing from his residence on Lower Green Street in Otego Friday afternoon, he reportedly suffers from dementia & was new to the area.

On Monday, at 9:30am, Senator Fred Akshar will join Harpursville Central School District staff and students to unveil a new playground at the Olmstead Elementary school. Senator Akshar was able to secure $135,000 in last year’s State Budget for the improvements to make the playground accessible for children of all abilities.
