Rochester Police announced that 14 year old Joanna Coates of Rochester, who was the subject of an Amber Alert late last night, was found alive & safe in New York City earlier this afternoon, 41 year old Robert Gonzalez of Rochester was taken into custody, he is expected to be returned to Rochester to face a variety of charges. Coates will be returned to her family following a medical examination at a New York City Hospital.

Governor Cuomo announced the extension of the state’s Real Property Tax Law exemption on farm buildings, which will provide continued tax relief for New York farmers and growers. The Law exempts agricultural producers from paying real property tax on buildings that are essential to the production of agricultural or horticultural products, such as temporary greenhouses, dairy barns and exercise arenas for horse-boarding operations. The Tax Law exemption was extended for the next 10 years and applies to newly constructed and re-constructed agricultural buildings through January 1, 2029.

More than 1,000 officers & state leaders were in Schenectady Monday to honor Trooper Jeremy VanNostrand, who died last week when his personal vehicle was rear-eneded & pushed into oncoming traffic, right in front of the Fonda State Police barracks as VanNostrand was reporting for work. VanNostrand was a 6-year state police veteran. He leaves behind his wife and 6-year-old daughter. State Police Superintendent George Beach stated that this was the 4th trooper that died this year, 2 from 9/11 illnesses, and 2 in the line of duty.

Governor Cuomo announced that he will deliver his 3rd inaugural address on January 1, 2019 on Ellis Island, the historic gateway for over 12 million immigrants coming to the United States. Opened in 1892, Ellis Island served as the largest and most active immigration station in the nation.

The Rochester City Police Department has activated the State AMBER Alert following child abduction in Rochester Saturday Night. The CHILD is 14 year old JOANNA COATES, described as a White female with brown hair and green eyes, about 5 feet 4 inches and 100 pounds; she was last seen wearing TIMBERLAND BOOTS, BLUE NIKE SHIRT, and BLACK LEGGINGS. The SUSPECT is 41 year old ROBERT GONZALEZ, described as a Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes, 6 feet tall and he weighs about 185 pounds, he was last seen traveling southeast possibly heading for NEW YORK CITY. THE CHILD WAS TAKEN UNDER CIRCUMSTANCES THAT LEAD POLICE TO BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE IN IMMINENT DANGER OF SERIOUS HARM AND OR DEATH. Anyone with any information is asked to call (866) N Y S-AMBER or dial 911 to provide information to law enforcement.

State Police arrested 35 year old Jessica Bird of Hancock for DWI, Refusing to submit to a breath test & several other traffic tickets. Troopers were assisting with another case when they heard a loud crash on West Main Street in the village of Hancock, they immediately responded and located Bird in a vehicle that crashed into a utility pole, she was released on appearance tickets returnable to the village of Hancock Court on December 12th.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 26 year old Dylan Debrock of Walton, Friday, on 1 count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, following the report of a Domestic Incident. It is alleged that Debrock knowingly acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental, and moral welfare of a child less than the age of 17. He was arraigned at the Town of Colchester Court, he was remanded to the Delaware county Correctional Facility on $1000 cash bail or $2000 bond, and He was scheduled to appear before the Town of Walton Court at a later date.
