The Broome County District Attorney’s office announced that Rajee Al-Mashni was sentenced for his guilty pleas for manslaughter, driving while ability impaired by combined influence of drugs and alcohol, and attempted assault. Al-Mashni struck and killed a 72 year-old Elizabeth Atkinson while high on drugs and alcohol on March 5th 2023 at the Oakdale Commons, police arrived for the report of Al-Mashni stealing items from parked cars, he took off at a high speed, and then hit Atkinson. Al-Mashni could serve 20 years in prison, 15 for manslaughter, and 5 combined for the other offenses with the sentences running consecutively.

33 year old Corey Koch of Deposit was sentenced to 5 years of felony probation supervision for his conviction of Attempted Burglary. Koch appeared in Delaware County Court, he illegally entered the First Baptist Church in Deposit, where he stole property and damaged a filing cabinet. Judge Hubbard additionally sentenced Koch to pay restitution to the Baptist Church, he was ordered to provide a sample of his DNA for inclusion in the State’s DNA data-bank, if he violates the terms and conditions of his probation, he faces the potential of being re-sentenced to 1 and 1/3 to 4 years in state prison. Koch still faces un-related charges in Broome County which are still pending.

43 year old Misty Cintron of Sidney was sentenced to state prison, for pleading guilty for selling illegal drugs in the Village of Sidney. Judge Hubbard sentenced Cintron to serve 3 1/2 years in prison and 1 year of post release supervision for each of her convictions, which will run concurrently, she was also ordered to forfeit $1,116.00 dollars that was seized at the time of arrest, she was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to begin serving her sentence.

Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33 year old Eric Doherty of Unadilla on 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, after Doherty was stopped in Bainbridge, deputies found Fentanyl and Methamphetamine. Doherty was processed and was released on an appearance ticket. Doherty is to appear in the Town of Bainbridge Court at a later date.
