24 year old Travon Sanders of Brooklyn was sentenced to 10 years in prison & 5 years post release supervision in Broome County Court Tuesday.  Sanders pleaded guilty to assault, attempted murder & criminal possession of a weapon for the shooting of Grady Hunter outside the Yellow Deli on Susquehanna Street in Binghamton last year.

Serina Madden of the town of Colesville appeared in Broome County Court yesterday for a pre-trial hearing.  Madden is accused of neglecting her daughter, 10 year old Belladonna Loke, who died  in 2018, she had been disabled from Cerebral Palsy, the trial is expected to begin on July 22nd.

Broome County Sheriff’s Office announced that fugitive Lucinda Cirigliano has been found in North Carolina.  Cirigliano was wanted on a warrant for Grand Larceny on May 1st,  the Broome County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division received tips indicating Lucinda fled the state, the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office tracked her to a relative’s address in North Carolina, she was taken into custody and  is being held in the Mecklenburg County Jail where she refused to be extradited back to New York, a warrant from the Governor’s office is expected to be issued to return Cirigliano back to Broome County to face court action.

Delaware County Sheriff’s department responded to the report this morning of a tipped over garbage truck near the Delaware County Solid Waste site on State Route 10 in Hamden.   The unidentified driver suffered a minor injury; a portion of the northbound lane of state Route 10 in Hamden was closed for several hours for the investigation & clean up.

Johnson City police announced that the deceased male found last week in a wooded area was that of 42-year-old Shaun Cronin of Binghamton.  Cronin’s remains were found by Johnson City employees last week near  Columbia Drive and Fairview Street, a ruling on how Cronin died has not yet been made pending the conclusion of Toxicology testing. The autopsy did not suggest any suspicious circumstances; there were no injuries on Cronin’s body.  State Police have been assisting Johnson City police with this investigation.

Congressman Anthony Brindisi announced a nearly $60,000 FEMA grant for Broome County. The grant comes through FEMA’s Homeland Security Grant program to improve Broome County’s ability to use unmanned aerial vehicles for counter-terrorism and emergency response.

State police are investigating the Death of a Man On oak hill road in Afton last night. The unidentified 50 year old man had a car that he was working on, fall on top of him, at about 6:30 PM.  More information is expected to be released shortly.
