Registrations are being accepted for the 26th Annual Pit Run in Oneonta on Sunday October 6th.  Registration is available at pitrun.org; the run is in memory of State Police Investigator Rick Parisian, who died while trying to stop an armed robbery in an Oneonta Supermarket in 1994.  Money raised goes to a scholarship fund named after Parisian.

Governor Cuomo today signed legislation extending the driver license suspension process for 2 years to further enforce child support obligations. The enforcement process allows the child support program to identify parents with a driver’s license who fail to pay child support and then notify them that their driving privileges will be suspended unless child support payments are made. The bill will extend the law through August 31, 2021.

New Yorkers who were molested or sexually abused as children will get their day in court, starting today with the ability to e-file claims.  Hundreds of lawyers representing victims starting filing early this morning, with about 200 child sexual abuse lawsuits filed by 6:00 AM, the number had almost doubled by 12:00 Noon.   The window to file was created by the state Legislature’s adoption in January of the Child Victims Act, which makes it easier for accusers to seek criminal and civil sanction of their abusers.

State Police at Binghamton responded to a 1-car motor vehicle accident on State Route 7 in the town of Colesville Tuesday.  The investigation revealed that the vehicle operated by 29-year-old Ashley Wolfanger of Binghamton, exited the roadway and struck at tree, killing 32-year-old passenger Lance Weiss of Harpursville.  Weiss was pronounced deceased on the scene and Wolfanger was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital where she is listed in stable condition.   The investigation is on-going.

The Otsego County Chamber to host Anti-Harassment Policies and Sexual Harassment Training today, at Northern Eagle Beverages at 41 Browne Street in Oneonta.  New York State mandates ALL employers to adopt a sexual harassment prevention policy as well as to train ALL employees on sexual harassment prevention.  Pinnacle Human Resources, LLC will conduct the training from 1:00PM to 3:00PM
