Assemblyman Cliff Crouch will host another forum on SATURDAY from 9:00 A.M. TO 11:00 A.M. about the NY SAFE Act at Walton Central School. Crouch will be joined by Delaware County Sheriff Thomas Mills and Delaware County Clerk Sharon O’Dell.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Chenango County will get underway tonight and runt through tomorrow morning. The Relay For Life will begin 6:30 p.m. at the Chenango County Fairgrounds; more information is available at relayforlife.org/chenangocountyny.
State troopers in Oneonta arrested Samir Champaneri of Illinois for Felony Driving While Intoxicated with a child less then 15 years of age in the vehicle, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on State Route 28 in Oneonta, Champaneri was arraigned in Oneonta Town Court and remanded to the Otsego County Jail in lieu of $2,500.00 cash bail/bond. He is scheduled to reappear before the Town of Oneonta Court on August 22nd.
State Troopers arrested 32-year-old Reginald Bridgeforth of Oneonta for 3rd degree Attempted Assault and Trespassing. The arrest resulted from an investigation into a reported altercation on Pine Cliff Circle in the Town of Davenport, Bridgeforth was arraigned before the Town of Davenport Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $8,000.00 cash bail/ $16,000.00 bond, and he will appear in the Town of Oneonta Court on July 23rd.
Tonight at 9:00 pm The Shire Pub in Delhi will be hosting a fundraiser for Habitat of Delaware County. Local band Betwixt Bothered & Bewildered will perform. Habitat for Humanity of Delaware County officials are planning for a building project in the Delhi area. The annual Chenango County Republican Committee Lobsterfest will be held this Sunday in Norwich. The event will run from 12:00 noon until 4:00 PM at the Canasawacta country club in Norwich, the event is a top fundraiser for republican candidates for a variety of races involving Chenango county offices.
The Chenango county sheriffs department 35 year old Richard Taft of Greene for 2nd degree Unlawful Surveillance. Taft is accused of covertly recording a victim without their knowledge or consent, he was processed and arraigned in the Village of Green Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash bail.
Local organizers announced the inaugural 5K Run-Walk through the City of Norwich to support the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancer research. The 5K run/walk will be held on Saturday, September 28th where it will start and end at East Park, in the City of Norwich at 9:00 am. The Ottawa Senators announced today that they have signed Binghamton Senators head coach Luke Richardson to a one-year contract extension. Also receiving one-year extensions are assistant coaches Steve Stirling and Matt Meacham. Richardson led an inexperienced Binghamton team to a 44-24-1-7 record in his rookie season as a head coach, finishing fourth in the AHL’s Eastern Conference.
