The General Clinton canoe regatta will feature a few new races.  Regatta Chairman John Harmon explains:

Harmon said that they are expecting another large group of people participating in races throughout the Memorial day weekend, and they are also expecting big crowds at general Clinton park for the midway rides, games, vendors, musical acts, entertainment and food this year.

Governor Cuomo will continue to push for ethics reforms, following the arrests of 5 downstate lawmakers in recent weeks on a variety of criminal charges:

Cuomo said that he would also put together a casino package for legislative consideration, which he expects to be dealt with by lawmakers before the end of the session next month.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s office arrested 45-year-old Thomas Gemberling on an arrest warrant for Violation of Parole.  Deputies & Norwich city police responded to a local business in the City of Norwich where Gemberling was found, he was arrested without incident and turned over to the Department of Parole.

State Troopers in Oneonta arrested 45-year-old Lisa Vantassell of Garrattsville for Falsifying Business Records.   The arrest was the result of a criminal investigation conducted by State Police; Vantassell was released on an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Oneonta Court on May 21st.

Governor Cuomo today announced that Luke Bryan will be among several top entertainers to perform at the Great New York State Fair this summer. Bryan will perform Thursday, August 29th with opening act Thompson Square.  Other State Fair acts at the Grandstand will include Toby Keith on Friday, August 23rd, Carly Rae Jepsen & Hot Chelle Rae on Saturday, August 24th, Reba McIntyre on Sunday, August 25th, Lynyrd Skynyrd on Monday, August 26th and Comedian Jeff Dunham on Tuesday, August 27th.  Tickets for Reba McIntyre and Carly Rae Jepsen go on sale at 9:00 AM Saturday, May 11th.

The Sidney town board will hold their next regular meeting tonight.  The meeting will get underway at 7:00 PM tonight in the first floor board room in the Sidney Civic Center.
